We stayed for two weeks in Irena's house in Park Slope. We found it comfortable, spacious and family friendly. It was as described in the listing, and communication with the host was efficient. The locality is great -- vibrant and safe with lots of restaurants, supermarkets and other interesting shops. We used only the subway in Grand Army Plaza, about ten minutes walk away. With one change you can get an express train into the heart of Manhattan. But Brooklyn has so much to offer, some days we just didn't want to leave -- the Botanic Gardens, Prospect Park and Brooklyn Museum are some of the reasons why it doesn't feel necessary to go to Manhattan to enjoy the richness of life and culture in NYC.
We had a wonderful stay in Irena's beautiful home! The home is located in one of the best spots in Brooklyn with the park, the botanical garden, endless restaurant choices, shops and bodegas. The home was perfect and easily accommodated our family and we all enjoyed the warmth (and cool) of the home... we would surely love to return and stay even longer!
This was the perfect house for a week in NYC. Stylish, comfortable, close to transportation and in a neighbourhood full of character, restaurants and shops. I cannot recommend it enough.
Irena was helpful and kind, with great communication and an easy, well though out structure to renting.
All in all we had a great week and were lucky enough to stay in a beautiful house that has been so cleverly modernised and designed
This is an amazingly beautiful place. We're simply at a loss for words. Spacious rooms, comfy beds and a second floor patio are just the beginnings in this home. The neighborhood has no shortage of great restaurants, bars and coffee joints. It was an easy walk to Prospect Park and multiple subway lines to Manhattan and other parts of Brooklyn. We didn't get to meet Irena personally, but communication was excellent and we felt at home! We absolutely loved Park Slope and Brooklyn as a whole. When we return to NYC this place will be at the top of our list. Thanks Irena and family from Scott and Heidi.
Irena was a wonderful hostess and easy to deal with. The house is charming and in a great location with plenty of space to spread out. Great playground half a block away and hardly the need to venture more than a few blocks for great food and interesting shops. Our favorites were sitting outside at Brooklyn Fish Camp and riding around Prospect park. We had so much fun visiting we decided to move to Park Slope from Philadelphia!
We had a great stay at Irena's beautiful home - it is in a perfect location to take advantage of all that Park Slope has to offer, whilst being so close to Manhattan. Irena is a great host, very flexible and communicative - thanks Irena!
About the Host, Irena
I am curious world traveler. I was born in Odessa, Ukraine, grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in California, and now live and work from home in Brooklyn, NYC. I have two children, ages 8 and 13, and together with my filmmaker/artist husband, Marc, we enjoy travelling as much as we can.
