This was an excellent base for exploring Brooklyn and feeling like a local. It's in a lovely area of Park Slope with great access to Prospect Park and lots of restaurants and shops. The house is lovely and provides ample space to stretch out and enjoy.

We have had a great stay in Irena's house in Park Slopes Brooklyn. The house is very large, had everything we needed and was very comfortable, the outdoor deck is great to relax after a full day sightseeing. The surrounding area has plenty of nice bars and restaurants and is only a short walk to Prospect Park. Irena is a great host and sends plenty of information in regards to the house and the surrounding area which we found very useful. We would definitely recommend this house for a very enjoyable stay in New York. Many thanks to Irena from Karen, Joe. Sam, Becky and Luke.

We loved New York. Of course the city is great – but that was something took for granted long before we left Lisbon. But what actually made the difference was Brooklyn and, of course, Irena and Marc’s place. Park Slope turned out to be the right place to regain our strenghts after a long day rushing across the endless metro stations, museums and must-see attractions. Everything you need is within a walking distance, 2 to 10 minutes away from home, either in the 5th avenue or in the 7th. The neighborhood is really nice in its diversity and the amazing arquitecture of the buildings made us feel like we were at home, even though our native town has nothing to do with Brooklyn. At the end of the day, when the sun set the top of the buildings on fire, it was like we were inside of a living painting of Hopper – but without the sadness. The house is just everything you can expect from the pictures in the site: truly beautiful and with lots of space. The main bedrooms in particular are very confy. If you read this and find this picture too good to be true, know then that the temperature inside the house tends to be hot – we were there in August. But don’t get too worried about this. The house has literally dozens of windows. And for a reasonable extra fee you can use the air conditioning provided in the bedrooms. We absolutelly loved it.

We had a great stay at Irena's house. She was a helpful host. This is a real home with spacious living areas, piano, games, kitchen essentials, etc so we felt at home there. The Park Slope area is full of life with more restaurants, shops and supermarkets than you could possibly need in a short walking distance, and also feels safe even late in the evening walking back from the subway with our kids. The house was convenient for several subway lines so it was easy to get in and out of Manhattan, Coney Island and Rockaway Beach, and a short walk to Prospect Park. We managed fine without a car. Be warned NY is baking hot in August but there was aircon in 2 bedrooms and fans provided so we could sleep.

Irene was very accommodating, flexible and helpful regarding all aspects of our stay. Everything went smoothly and we greatly appreciated being able to experience staying in such a lovely area of Brooklyn. The house was so spacious we only needed to use the top two floors and the terrace was a lovely bonus. Thank you very much Irena for making your home available to us for our stay. All the very best, Debbie

This is a wonderful family house, full of character and style and in a fantastic location. The house is very spacious and has the huge advantage of a rear terrace that was great to relax on after a day's sightseeing. Irena was a very friendly and helpful host who made sure we had everything we needed. The area is superb with lots of great bars and restaurants. Access to the subway is very easy, and the area felt very safe even walking back after midnight. If you want to feel what it's like to live in a stylish house, in the stylish suburb of a great city, then this is the place to stay!

I am curious world traveler. I was born in Odessa, Ukraine, grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area in California, and now live and work from home in Brooklyn, NYC. I have two children, ages 8 and 13, and together with my filmmaker/artist husband, Marc, we enjoy travelling as much as we can.
