The Space

We are empty-nesters living in the heart of Dublin in a magnificent apartment on the top two floors of two large neo-Georgian houses right on the banks of the River Liffey beside O'Connell Bridge. The photo was taken 50 paces from our front door.

There is no family home closer to the centre of Dublin.

For suitable families visiting Dublin, we offer two bedrooms in our home (the empty nests). These each contain a double bed, with additional beds available, and they share a toilet/shower room.

The main living area includes a baby grand piano and a 52-in large-screen TV with X-Box (for after the piano practice). The dining-room table is board-room sized and suitable for entertaining in the evening by arrangement.

We are only interested in hosting families who would appreciate the pleasure of having a home-from-home in Dublin. Single parents and single sex parents are welcome. The house is NOT suitable for people with limited mobility. You will be sharing our home with us and with a very elderly cat.

Our home is exceptional and it has always been a family home, so we are unlikely to accept bookings from anyone other than a family group. However, we are willing to discuss occasional corporate bookings when families are not present.

For privacy and security reasons, we prefer not to divulge too much about ourselves or our home online. We are proud to be fully tax compliant, but we think that it is best to reserve detailed information and photographs for genuine inquiries.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Our host was wonderful. The apartment is great, we had plenty of room for the kids and ourselves. The location is almost too perfect, right in the middle of things, but somehow not noisy.

  • My two college-grad daughters and I just had 4 days in Dublin, staying at John's apt. We had three bedrooms, one with the kitchenette. John was a perfect host, helpful and present in his separate quarters of the house. He gave us great tips about touring Dublin, while ensuring we felt at home. The location of the apt is perfect, with views of the Liffey and Ha'penny Bridge. We loved the convenience of our first visit to Dublin. Denise

  • Very central location. Very helpful and charming host. Very good value. Would definitely go back. There are a few things that some might not like (there is very wild night life going on all around most nights, if you are coming by car parking is a bit complicated, the decor is laid back), but if you want to be bang in the middle of things and not paying through your nose, then this is great.

  • Stayed here with my husband and 3 girls ages 1, 6 and 9 and it was great! My girls thought it was a palace - they loved their room and the views - watching the geese in the morning on the canal, and the nightlife in the area (which we couldn't hear from the apt). Great location! Great host! Would stay there again.
