The space
Unique 1 bed/1 bath ocean view private cottage nestled in the trees above Whaleshead Beach. Wall-to-wall windows create a treehouse feel with loads of sunlight, along with stunning forest and Pacific Ocean views. The large wraparound deck is perfect for sunny ocean vistas and moon-gazing at night, with a cozy outdoor sofa that opens to a round bed.
Interior features hardwood floors, colorful vintage rugs, and bohemian decor. Full kitchen equipped with new gas top stove, sink, toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker, and all cooking essentials. Two spacious living rooms feature Roku TV, a reading nook, and a dedicated workspace with high-speed internet.
The bathroom has ample counter space with endless hot water, for guests who need ultimate relaxation after a long day. (This is a standing shower, no tub.)
Bedroom includes new memory foam mattress, and a gorgeous built-in wardrobe, with drawers under a platform bed. Queen bed sleeps 2, while a pull-out sofa queen in the living room sleeps 2 additional guests, also memory foam.
Private garden back yard includes relaxation bench, meditation platform, and shaded pagoda with outdoor chairs and table. Flowers bloom June through October (dormant over winter).

Private setting tucked into the trees with quiet neighbors. Walking distance to beach and hiking trails *across the 101.* There is a creek in the lower section too.
Washer/Dryer on resort premise a short walk away. Machines accept debit/credit cards.
Private driveway fits 2 standard vehicles. RV parking is available in the main resort lot (no hookups), which will require walking up and down a hill.
WE ARE A PET-FRIENDLY HOME
All animals welcome! Any size dogs. We are cat lovers. We have food bowls but not a litter box (guests should bring their own). Front deck is wired off with pet gates available to use.
We do not allow dogs to use the garden as a bathroom. There is plenty of public grass available (the whole resort is a forest!)
We do our best to keep the place free of pet hair and have dedicated pet blankets, but there may be some even after hours of cleaning (pet people get it). If you’re not a pet owner and this bothers you, this may not be the place for you. We want to be open about that vs receiving poor reviews from people we've communicated this to.
Guest access
Guests are welcome to roam the entire property. Storage units on site are locked and not accessible.
Other things to note
NATURE: Hiking trails wind through ancient woods, leading to the secluded splendor of Whaleshead Beach, Indian Sands, and other gorgeous hiking trails. Note: you will have to walk or drive across the 101 (which is never busy).
A few minutes north, you'll find views of rock arches in the ocean and the famous Natural Bridge. The Redwoods are a short drive south into Cali (45 min).

FOOD: the local bakery has odd hours and a pricey menu, so we recommend you head into Brookings for breakfast at Mattie's Pancake House. You'll find a binder in the cottage with recommendations. This town is known for it's fresh seafood!
Brookings is 10 min south, with grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, and gas. Gold Beach is 25 min north. Medical facilities are available in both locations.

🌀 We have a great team on and offsite. We prefer guests who have great communication skills and don’t mind letting us know if we missed something (as opposed to finding out afterward in a review).
