The Nest thermostat can be controlled by your hosts, who will be happy to turn on the a/c or heater prior to your arrival. Just a quick text as you are leaving Yosemite and we will make sure the apartment temperature will be comfortable in time for your arrival.

Linens and a 2" foam pad for the sofa bed are stored in the west side bed room closet.

Though the water here will not make one sick, we do suggest bottled water as a good alternative to the tap water for the sake of taste. We do provide Pur filtered water.

Sally's place is so much more than a great base to visit Yosemite park. The house is fabulous and we loved every single minute of our stay. Definitely recommend for a relaxing retreat.

This was our first stay in an AirBnB and Our Mountain Hideaway set a very high bar for any others to follow. Sally and Dan thought of everything we could possibly need and we felt right at home. The fully stocked kitchen allowed us to make some fabulous meals -- it even had a crockpot so we could come back to a warm dinner after a full day of hiking. The proximity to Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks allowed for a multitude of adventures during our stay. Even seeing deer outside the windows every day was a special treat. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation with lots of memorable moments. We really enjoyed our stay!

It is a spaceous home and it feels like your own house. The separate entrance, BBQ in the backyard, fully equiped kitchen and plenty of beds for our family of 4. Communication was great and super fast. It is very clean and provides all you need. Distance to Yosemite was good. It is a fun drive with nice views (1 hour 15 to the Valley). We hope to go back to Yosemite and would absolutely love to go back to this place.

Sally User ProfileSally is a superhost.

I am local and my husband Dan is a Bay Area transplant. We both enjoy hosting guests and sharing our love of the Sierra Nevadas and Yosemite. We still work fulltime as the owners and operators of Dan’s Auto Center.
I love to hike and explore, Dan prefers horsepower to get around. If you ask, Dan would be more than happy to show you his collection of cars in the garage. Quilting is my passion, which is evident in my decorating style.
Being self-employed, we don’t have a chance to do much traveling. But for a quick get-away in the summer, Mammoth Lakes is our favorite destination. The trip through Yosemite and over Tioga Pass is amazing! Carmel by the Sea is another place we love to go for a weekend trip.
So far, our motto when traveling has been "hurry up and have fun". Someday we hope to slow it down a bit, stay a little longer and take time to really enjoy the sites and get to know the locals to get the true flavor of the places we visit.
For now, we will settle for traveling vicariously through you. Tell us the highlights of your trip in our journal and please put a pin on our map!
