Located right in the heart of the village, the cabin offers both privacy and spectacular scenery. Enjoy the midnight sun in summer and the northern lights in winter — all from the comfort of this modern, welcoming retreat.
The space
The cabin is thoughtfully equipped for families — especially those travelling with toddlers and young children. You’ll find an outdoor playhouse, plenty of toys, and practical gear that makes life with little ones both easier and more fun. It’s a place where families can settle in, slow down, and truly feel at home.
Villa Hegge is more than a place to stay, it’s a piece of my family story. The cabin was originally built in 1994 and, believe it or not, once served as a stable for my horse. In 2014 I began transforming it into the warm, modern retreat it is today, and in July 2016 I welcomed my very first Airbnb guest. I have been an Airbnb host since 2011, one of the first in Norway.
Large windows bring the dramatic northern weather right into the living space, stormy skies, endless summer light, and crisp winter nights. A modern wood-burning fireplace and electric heating keep the cabin cosy no matter the season.
You’ll find all the modern comforts you need, wrapped in a space that still carries the soul of its past.
I return here a few weeks each year to visit family and care for the property, and because of that, everything is designed to last, and with love. My hope is that it feels like a true home for you as well, not just a rental.

The entire house and outdoor area are yours to enjoy during your stay.
Two snowshoes, 2 bikes and 2 fishing rods are available for your adventures. Among other winter gear like sleds and summer outdoor games like Boccia
The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need — from a waffle iron and cake-making tools to basics like salt, cooking oil, and spices. You can easily cook a big, lovely meal.
If you’re a coffee enthusiast, you’re in luck — Villa Hegge has all the gear you could need: French Press, V60, Nespresso machine and a Filtercoffee maker and a small Bodum grinder. Bring your favorite beans!
WORKOUT GEAR:
If you like to stay active while traveling, you’ll find:
2 yoga mats
Rubber stretch bands
Spinning bike in the garage (it can be a bit chilly in winter, but you can move it to the big hallway)
Ceiling hook (in the living room) for attaching a TRX (TRX is not provided, so bring your own if you have one)
There is no TV, but a small Bluetooth speaker is provided. There are plenty of board games and books to enjoy during your stay.

FIREPLACE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE
Outside: There’s a large fire pit you’re welcome to use all year round. Please use only the wood provided in the shed outside — there’s no extra cost for this.
Inside: For the indoor fireplace, please use the wood provided in the black basket. This wood is drier and gives a better burn. One basket of wood is included with your stay.
If you use extra wood (stored in the garage), it costs 150 NOK per bag or 75 NOK for half a bag. We take note of the wood provided in the garage before your stay, so it’s super helpful if you let me know how many bags you’ve used when you leave. Any charges are handled conveniently via the Airbnb Solution Center.

The cabin is located in the heart of a small village, giving you the convenience of walking to grocery stores. So it is not isolated deep in the forest. But it has great views and privacy.
Guests are expected to leave the cabin clean and tidy, as on arrival.
If you are more than four guests, please review the sleeping arrangements carefully to ensure the space suits your needs.
