About This Listing
Delightful, partially underground apartment complete with full updated kitchen and bath with bamboo floors. The queen size bed is partially separated from the living room with a breakfast counter. The living room has two daybeds. Sleeps 4 people.
This is a lovely, comfortable, immaculately clean apartment. It's on a large country lot, yet only about 4 miles from the center of Ithaca, Ithaca College, and Cornell University. The new modern kitchen has a full refrigerator, oven, stove, toaster, blender, coffee maker, dishes, and plenty of utensils and cookware.
No need to bring water as my well water is just as good.
The bathroom is as new and elegant as the kitchen with a full bath tub and shower. Both the kitchen and bathroom have bamboo floors.
I will leave coffee, tea, eggs and whole wheat bread so that you can make a healthy breakfast.
There's a queen size bed with good linens in the main bedroom and a single bed in the living room. Enjoy the high speed WIFI and cable TV.
I can help orient you and make recommendations for things to see and do. Upper Buttermilk Falls State Park is only about 2-3 miles away. Taughannock Park (said to be the highest waterfall east of the Rockies) is 8 miles from Ithaca, along Cayuga Lake.
You may want to try the wine trails, the Farmers' Markets, a boat ride on the lake, or enjoy the abundance of very talented musicians and other high quality arts and museums.
Coddington is a scenic, country road that leads straight into town.
Hope to see you!
All the best, Melissa
Very safe and peaceful neighborhood.
There is no public transit, unfortunately.
This is a quiet house, so we're looking for quiet, respectful people.
No smoking of course.
My daughter and I had a lovely stay here during orientation at Ithaca. Melissa was welcoming and provided all natural eggs and bread as well as free-trade coffee - bonus points in my book! The accommodations were very comfortable and very clean and I watched TV in bed for the first time in months on a large screen with a ton of channels. Melissa also accommodated a last minute booking which was much appreciated. Thank you Melissa!
Melissa was a fantastic host and was very warm and welcoming. We enjoyed staying at her place very much. The apartment was very clean and stocked with fresh eggs and milk, amongst other things. I would absolutely stay again!
Melissa's studio apartment is a great space. Very clean and nicely decorated. The location is quiet and peaceful. Melissa was attentive to our needs both before and during our stay. I would stay there again in the future.
The room is nice and clean. Everything is perfect. We really enjoyed and hope we can stay longer next time.
Our stay with Melissa was very comfortable. She was very helpful in getting us oriented to the attractions in Ithaca that we had interest in visiting as well as great suggestions for places to eat. A genuinely happy hostess! The space is a cozy basement apartment with a great sitting about 4 miles from anything downtown that you could want. A super place to stay!
We had a quick but lovely stay at Melissa's studio this month. It was a very peaceful spot just outside of town and was a perfect place to stay while we were in Ithaca to visit the college. Thank you for the yummy, local breakfast items; it was nice not to have to go out again for a meal. Thank you!
We had an enjoyable stay at Melissa's basement apartment. The separate entrance and parking spot was perfect for us since we had late night college reunion events we were attending during our stay. The room was very warm & comfortable, and we would gladly stay there again for future such visits.

About the Host, Melissa
Quiet, clean, friendly, responsible, retired Cornell library supervisor and massage therapist. I love singing, dance, yoga, natural foods, holistic health and am passionate about trying to save our environment. I began hosting on Airbnb in the summer of 2013 and it has been a huge success. I have hosted over 200 people and I can honestly say that each guest has been very kind and considerate. So it's been a great experience!
I'm thrilled that people enjoy the apartment and guestroom so much. Having lived in Ithaca since 1970, I can offer you suggestions on what to see and do. BTW, I am an open-minded sort and am not opposed to hosting families, gay couples or those of any particular race or creed. We're all one big human family! :)
