The cottage is located in a Portland neighborhood close to public transport (near a MAX light rail station), the airport and outdoor activities (the Columbia Gorge; Mt Hood) and a 20-30 min drive to downtown. It's cozy (eclectic vintage style), a wooded setting within the city limits, and has secure premises (electric gate). Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

The space
We designed the cottage with a vintage style, having salvaged some of Jon's family farmhouse which was demolished for development. So you will see many elements from that house in our cottage in order to preserve his family's memories. The cottage itself was where Jon's grandmother lived and the Victorian bed was hers). We've had this property since we were married in 1979, lived in the cottage and then built our home behind it a few years later.

I am retired though I do a little preaching here and there on the side. My husband, Jon, is a retired high school chemistry teacher and together we love building and making spaces more beautiful. We have three adult sons and seven grandchildren so we are busy! We love meeting new people and we love using our home as an oasis for others.

During your stay

We are available throughout your stay unless we happen to be out of town (which can happen since we have grandchildren to visit). You are welcome to visit us in our home or if you need anything, we are just a short walk up the driveway. We love meeting our guests but we also want to respect your privacy. We leave it up to you to initiate.
