Interaction with Guests
I am usually present during the guest's stay. Most of my guests are very independent and enjoy the privacy of this beautiful space. I've had many enjoyable conversations with those who have wanted to chat with me.
This is a peaceful residential neighborhood.
This property is a 20 minute walk and a five-minute drive to the town of Mendocino. There is no public transportation to speak of.
No smoking anywhere on the property, no pets, no children. Drug-free zone.
We feel extremely fortunate to have had the delightful experience of staying at Hummingbird Haven. Margaret is a thoughtful, caring hostess; the property is quiet; the studio is charming, and every detail is thought-of. She considered, and provided-for our dietary needs. Her suggestion for dining in town was so spot-on, we went back a second night, trying something else off their exquisite menu.
The books in the studio were so interesting I read the ones there instead of the one I had started and brought with me.
Margaret is gentle, warm, intelligent and engaging without being intrusive. Always a pleasure to speak with.
We look forward to staying at Hummingbird Haven again.
We had a wonderful time with Margaret. Her property is beautiful, clean, relaxing and close to town. Breakfast was delicious. We will be back!
This was one of our favorite Air bnb stays, if not our favorite stay of the trip throughout traveling the California coast. Margaret greeted us upon arrival and was the sweetest. She provided us with so much information about the studio and said if we needed anything at all to not hesitate and ask. She also provided my husband and I with 2 passes to go visit the Botanical garden for our anniversary gift. So unexpected, thoughtful and kind. I am so thankful she let us know we should try and make time to go because it was one of the best gardens I've visited. She went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. I see why she has five star reviews across the board.
This was our second stay at Hummingbird Haven. We found it to be as clean, welcoming and private as we had remembered. I especially appreciate this peaceful place that's nestled fairly close to Mendocino and the Coast.
Margaret was very welcoming and stocked our roomed with wonderful local food. She has a beautiful home with hummingbirds everywhere throughout her garden! My sister and I had a great weekend of adventures and were happy to have a cozy place to return and relax at the end of the day :)
This was a wonderful romantic getaway on our honeymoon. The property is absolutely breathtaking, and we loved sitting on the shaded patio with our tea/coffee and watching the hummingbirds fly around us. The gardens are beautiful, and it's so calm and relaxing here. Margaret is a genuine, fun person who we really enjoyed meeting and chatting with. She's really thought of everything, and the studio is well stocked with board games, many varieties of tea, umbrellas, extra lotions and soaps, and just about anything else you could need. We hope to return someday!
What a wonderful experience! Everything was taken care of. Margaret is so thoughtful and attentive. It is a beautiful place, the breakfast is delicious, and we didn't want to leave! Looking forward to returning again soon!

I speak some French, German and Spanish.
