Andrew is a brilliant guy, knowlegable, open and considerate. We stayed there 4 days, the big yard, the lanscape , "morning call" by hundreds of birds, just a wonderful location for holiday. Two sweet sisters house keeper are also great. they keep smiling, could cook delicious food for guests. Strongly recommended.

My stay at Andrew's was just what I needed. Such a beautiful piece of property that is so tranquil. Perfect to take a break and rest. The food is amazing, Andrew is awesome to talk to, and the other guests I met while staying there were a lot of fun. This was one of those great Airbnb experiences where you feel like you are staying with a friend. Highly recommend staying here and getting to know Andrew!

Andrew is a fantastic host, welcoming and authentic. Our room was clean and comfy, a good value for price. Andrew helped us arrange hiring a driver to Sigiriya Rock/Dambulla Caves at an affordable rate. And later during our trip, after we had already left Polwatte House, we texted Andrew for help arranging a driver again, and he so kindly helped us even though we were no longer his guests! We were amazed by just how beautiful the countryside location of the house is, the photos can't do it justice. We set down our bags and immediately set out for a walk along the beautiful, peaceful river. Loved sitting outside on the verandah with a glass of wine in the evening watching the sun set. It was one of the most memorable places we stayed during our 3 week trip. We were happy with our decision to stay outside of the city, but do keep in mind the distance from Kandy, about 25 minutes by tuk-tuk, and I recommend having Andrew arrange the tuk-tuk to pick you up at the station, as our tuk-tuk driver had a difficult time finding it. Highly recommend having lunch or dinner here during your stay at least once, the cooking was fantastic, some of the best food of our trip. We stayed for 2 nights, but I wish we had booked 2 more!

Polwatte is one of those few places you will never forget. The house is located in a peaceful area, alongside a river. Andrew makes you feel home straight away, with his natural kindness and its integrity. His friends are like him : welcoming and generous. Certainly our best and most authentic experience in Sri Lanka ! Thank you Andrew, hope to see you again !
