This apartment is independent, You will not be sharing if with anyone.
It is easier and faster to commute into the City from Union City than commuting from Brooklyn or Queens.
If you were to stay in the Bronx it would take you 40 min to get to Times Square. If you were to Stay in Brooklyn it would take you the same amount of time as subways in Brooklyn are not direct. If you were to stay in Manhattan you would not find a place as big as this one for this price.
The apartment is located in a safe neighborhood, close to shopping and restaurant area.
The apartment is located within a 3-min walk to a bus stop the bus will take you to Times Square district in approximately 15 minutes (Important: Bus to Times Square costs $3 each way and bus tickets cannot be used for subway) NJ transit bus tickets cost $27 for 10 one way tickets. The bus will take you to Port Authority 42nd St subway station (lines A, C, E). This station is a central subway hub and you can easily walk to lines 1, 2, 3, 7, N, Q and R. (Important: Subway tickets cost $2.5 per ride but you can buy 7-days unlimited pass at $29).
I do not recommend buying the unlimited pass as Port Authority is central and you can walk to all major tourist attractions.
It is like an independent house located in the back of a garden.
The apartment is a duplex with living room and bathroom on main floor and bedroom on 2nd floor, First floor has a double sofa bed
The apartment is near restaurants and shopping center.
Parking is street parking. Parking permit will be provided. You are still subject to parking regulations.
This apartment does not have a kitchen.
This rental is for you to enjoy and relax. Please be respectful of your neighbors, we do not allow loud music or guest getting drunk and loud.
The apartment was quaint, two floors with one double bed and one fold out couch upstairs with one more downstairs. Its location was great, we caught the 154 NJ Transit bus from right outside the door to the Port Authority everyday (except on Sunday when the 154 does not run). However, these buses have a tendency to be late (usually 15 minutes) and it is not great when you have to wait for it in the cold snow.
The local area was great, there were many restaurants/fast food places and there were numerous hispanic supermarkets around which made food quite accessible.
The house however was extremely small and I would not recommend having more than 3 people stay at one time. The heating was also quite weak, with downstairs being extremely cold in the winter. There is no kitchen, let alone a sink, which made cooking small dishes and washing the dishes extremely tough. Furthermore, the cold water stopped numerous times - causing the tap water to be very hot and the toilet unable to automatically flush.
Despite these setbacks, the place was in a great location and in a safe neighbourhood just across the bridge and at its low price it was good value for our stay in New Jersey/New York.
Very nice place. Close to bus stop, groceries, theatre and easy to commute to new York.
The place is comfortable and quiet. Very clean and convenient. Warm and you wish stay there more time. Near to New York. Very well comunicated. The neighbourhood is safe and very friendly. Very recommended.
We had a great stay. It was our first AirBnB experience and much preferred it to a hotel. The house is as described and very clean. The neighbourhood is very safe. The commute to NYC takes some figuring out but takes only 20-30 minutes. We will be back.
Miyoko ... and more than 700 comments ... I would like to say only one thing... well deserved.
We didn't have opportunity to see each other - but still everything was as prepared by the Host as described.
Apartment was clean, Internet was working, there was Hot water and we didnt have any problems to get there because before our arrival we got really nice prepared email how to get everywhere to and from apartment (Airports and City) - that was very useful!
Miyoko - Big Thanks! Next time maybe we will have more luck to meet :) - we Highly recommend this HOST!
Didn't get to meet Miyoko but she was there to assist immediately with a reply to my texts.
The place was clean and suited us perfectly.
We made use of some late night snacks with Papa Johns Pizza close by. Other food places were just a short walking distance away.
The best bit was the tranport to NYC. Bus stop right across the road or a 2min walk to a more central bus stop, and 15-20mins later we arrive at Port Authority. It was easy to get to and from any location.
If we return to NY we will definately love to be back here, and will recommend to others.
The place was clean (including dishes, towels & linen). Neighborhood is busy during the day and well-lit at night.
There are plenty of buses to and from Port Authority. If you have a car and want to park please make sure you understand the parking regulations properly. You have to pay during the day if you park at the metered parking. Finding parking spot in the adjacent roads where you can park for free with the Parking permit is little time consuming.
