Our home is your home away from home! We welcome our guests to feel comfortable and share our space while in Anchorage. We have dogs, teenagers and a super nice balcony for relaxing in the evenings.
Private furnished room in our house with a 3/4 bath (shared if other guests, private if you are only guest), kitchen and laundry privileges included. The bedroom is a good-sized room with a queen bed, plush bedding, dresser, cable TV available at no additional charge, and, of course, free Wi-Fi!
A light breakfast is provided for you to enjoy until 10:00 am. We provide cereal, granola bars, fruit, and oatmeal. Every now and then, Chef David whips up pancakes or a breakfast casserole. After that, you may feel free to use the kitchen as long as you clean up after yourselves. We have an awesome deck with a Traeger pellet grill that runs year-round.
We are low-key individuals who enjoy people. We have opened our home to others for many years and are now official through airbnb! We've enjoyed our visitors to date and are looking forward to your stay with us.
We live in a quiet neighborhood about 15 minutes outside of downtown Anchorage. We are close to grocery stores (Fred Meyer and Carrs/Safeway), movie theatres, the Dimond Center mall, Alaska Zoo, and other attractions here in Anchorage. We are also near the bike trails and on a bus line. Honestly, everything is pretty close together in Anchorage!
We have 3 small dogs and they want to help make your stay enjoyable. If you are allergic or don't like dogs, this is not the place for you as our dogs are part of the family, and yours during your stay.
Kitchen (including well appointed spice cabinet), laundry room, community living room and dining room, back balcony with grill. We do have an additional full-size bathroom upstairs that is also yours to use. Although your room is private, the rest of the house is yours to enjoy, including the garage if you are driving a motorcycle!
This 5-bedroom house is one that you will experience having a hands-on host most of the time. It's important to us that our guests get questions answered, needs met and have a great showing of our amazing town so we are available by cell at any time during your stay if we are not at the house. occasionally, guests are even invited to join us for dinner. The level of interaction you desire is up to you ultimately.
Our neighborhood is a safe, family cul-de-sac that is quiet and nice. There are kids outside, families living life and it has a nice warm feeling about it. The lots are large and it was built in the 1980's so there are lots of trees and birds.
Parking at our house is plentiful and free! There is a main bus line down the road but we suggest renting a vehicle for your time in Anchorage. Although small in population, our city is very spread out and many of the attractions are miles away.
We do encourage our guests to rent a vehicle in order to truly experience the uniqueness that this state offers.
It was cold in the basement room, but David brought me a huge heater next day :) Totally happy with this last minute decision. Playing snow in their patio and 3 cool dogs were the most part I missed.
I like this private room, private bath, clean and sweet bedding set. Maps, booklet, bus schedule...they are so helpful. As a New Yorker, I so miss the private washer and dryer.
I can't travel without hot water, real glass, bowl and folks. Yes, The host even share two dinners, they both yummy!
was thinking how to cook my Cod fish. David sent me recipes, And Kelli pulled out her olive oil in front of me:)))
What a good day. I caught their wedding anniversary day:) I wish I could catch the kastle's cupcake next time!
You won't believe they are that sweet for real like the couple from american episodes. (dream if I could have a family like this soon)
Very nice and comfortable stay. Kelli was very accommodating and made me feel right at home. I will be back.
My wife and I had one of the best vacation in awhile, with memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. This was in large part due to David and Kelli being such good host and hostess. They are very hospitable. We became good friends and enjoy endless conversation, laughter, meals, and stories. We also became pretty attached to their 3 little dogs too, especially Coco. :P The house is spotless and without clutter.
I rarely give out 5 stars but the Burmans deserve it and I am going to recommend them to all of my friends who are going to travel to Alaska.
My husband and I visited Alaska for the first time and stayed at David and Kelli's place for a week. My first impression of their place is that it is very homey, super clean, and comfortable. The room we had was quiet and private, though we share the lower level with another guest and their daughter. As we got to know Kelli and David more, we quickly became good friends. They are hilarious, warm, caring, attentive. It felt like we were staying at our old friends place, rather than an airbnb.
We highly recommend their airbnb and will definitely pass this info on to our friends and family.
David and Kelly TRULY treated me as a family member.
I was a little concern being a little far (walking distance) from downtown Anchorage...but with their support and kindness...that was NOT an issue.
This couple is very friendly and the house is ALWAYS clean.
They help me to organize my days...they were so supportive. Without their help, my short visit would be different.
They are friendly and very kind people....you will fell HOME if you decide to stay with this wonderful family.
Not forgetting the dogs...their are cute...:)
David & Kelli are two of the nicest people I have met. They were very courteous and gave a warm welcome into their home. My wife is scared of dogs, and they explained to her that their three dogs are very friendly, and also made sure they don't come near her during our stay. The room was very clean, and the bathroom is a little separated. We stayed there for 2 days, and they even provided a little bath supply kit. We needed a heater, and they provided a portable heater. I would definitely recommend David & Kelli to anyone who wants to stay in Anchorage. They also have great suggestions for places to eat.
Our stay in Anchorage at the Burman's was fantastic Kelli was a great hostess and gave us wonderful tips about things to do and places to see. She even cooked us breakfasts on a few of our days there. We were made to feel like family and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Their 3 small dogs were a joy. We will miss playing with them.
What a great place and what super people.
David and Kelly were great hosts! They kept making sure that everything was nice and just how we liked it. They made us feel very welcome and right at home. Thanks a lot guys!
