This neighborhood is the best in LA by far. Close to the beach, close to venice, and close to Downtown Santa Monica. Plus it still has the real neighborhood vibe. Located in the southwest corner of Santa Monica is the Ocean Park neighborhood. This neighborhood has a mix of older smaller homes, apartment buildings, large homes near the beach and condos. The area has a beachy, artsy feel similar in manner to its neighbor Venice Beach, although much cleaner, safer and upscale. Many Santa Monica residents come to shop/browse on Main Street, home of many boutiques and restaurants. Main Street also hosts a weekly farmer's market on Sundays. Home prices range between 750,000 up to 5 million.
Walk along the beach, go shopping enjoy fantastic restaurants and hob nob with movie stars.
Parking is included. There lots of street parking in the neighborhood.
Other Things to Note
There is an elevator in the building.
Try not to be loud after 11pm. No smoking in the apartment or the building you have to go to the front of the building. No overnight guests not listed on the rental agreement. No Jumping off the balcony (bad idea). No smoking inside.
Please don't bother neighbors or tell them you are renting from AirBnB.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Jason is a nice guy and good host. we had a terrible delay the day that we arrive to LA, and he was waiting, worrying for us, until we could get to the apartment.
The situation of the apartment is perfect, so close to the downtown and to the Beach. In between the SM's pier and Venice beach. Also is spacious and clean, and the possibility of using the garage, it is very positive if you plan a road trip along the coast as we have done. It is not easy or cheap to park in California.
Next time in SM, the Jason's apartment will be our first option again.
The apartment was great and close from the beach. Jason made us feel welcomed and it was a great way to start our holidays. The description on airbnb is accurate. Santa Monica is a great neighborhood, where the habitations are lovely. In definitive , it was a great stay ! I'd recommend this pad to Anyone .
The neighborhood is great, so close to the beach. Jason is super clean and accomodating, a total sweetheart. You should know is that the place (like most in SM) doesn't have AC so we thought Jason should buy a fan for the bedroom maybe even a window fan. The bed was was not the best for my husband as it has a slight dip in the center. There is no iron available if you need to press clothing- he did provide a steamer which worked 'ok'.
Jason's place was great. It was big enough for my needs and the location can't be beat. Easy walk to everything in Santa Monica. Jason was a good host and very responsive to me during my stay. Highly recommended.
Jason and his place were awesome. Jason was exceedingly accommodating and flexible with checking in and checking out. Communication was great.
The apartment itself was amazing. Great location a few blocks from the beach and in the best neighborhood of LA. The couch was a perfect place to chill on a quiet Sunday evening. There's no A/C, but honestly, you don't need it. It was relatively hot when I was there, but it cooled down plenty at night and was comfortable during the day.
All in all, a great place to stay and a great host.

When I host I love it when my guests feel like locals and not like tourists.
