Debbie and Peter are wonderfully attentive hosts. Their home is beautifully appointed and my bedroom was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Although I hoped to get across the street to walk along Lake Johnson, I never got the chance but the location could not be prettier or more convenient. Debbie made sure I had everything I needed and prepared a wonderful breakfast each morning. Southern hospitality at its finest!

My parents and I have both stayed with Debbie and Peter on separate occasions and both experiences were phenomenal! They are the sweetest couple that treats you like family while you're there. Their house is absolutely beautiful and plenty of space and quiet that makes for a perfect home away from home.

I had a relaxing and comfortable visit at Peter and Debbie's, the bed is so comfortable and their home is kept impeccably. I walked across the street and rented a kayak to cruise around the lake. Peter prepared a lovely breakfast for me as well. What a wonderful quiet spot just around the corner from all that Raleigh has to offer!

We could not have been more delighted with our stay with Peter and Debbie. It was like staying at a lovely bed-and-breakfast, complete with comfortable and elegant bedroom and wonderful homemade breakfast. Our hosts were available when ever we had questions and their hospitality was both warm and knowledgeable. They're welcome to our extended family during our daughters graduation was gracious beyond expectation. We could not recommend staying here anymore than we are. They add new definition to "Super Host!"

Response from Peter And Debbie:
We enjoyed Micheal and his wife, and inviting their children coming for a special (pancake receipt from Michael) breakfast in our formal dining, for his daughter to celebrate her graduation from our Vet School at NCSU. We are in " university" town, and always welcome students from and to all universities!

Peter And Debbie User Profile

Peter came to Raleigh from Ontario, Canada in 1988 and started his career as a professor of Nutrition in the Prestage Department of Poultry Science at North Carolina State University. When he is not teaching and leading research projects at home, he travels the world giving lectures and consulting with food companies. Peter’s passions include spending time with his wife and family, experiencing different places and cultures, reading and learning new things, science and nature, snorkeling and scuba diving, bike riding, and mentoring young adults.

Not long after he arrived in Raleigh, Peter met and later married Debbie, a lovely and true “Southern Bell”. Debbie is a native of Raleigh, and she knows all the good places to visit, shop, and eat. She is definitely the most colorful and social one in the household. Debbie is an interior designer and loves to play house and entertain. Her passions include her husband, family and friends. She loves volunteering her time and talents at her church community, cooking, fashion, art, antiques, vacationing, beach resorts, and most of all, her favorite place to stay is St. Thomas, USVI.

We have made many good friends of different cultures from all over the world, and we enjoy meeting new people. We have hosted many guests in our home. We welcome you to stay with us, and we will treat you as part of our family and make you feel right at home.
