Located in a lively residential neighborhood just 1 mile from the Brown and RISD campuses on the historic East Side. Within blocks of a shopping center with Whole Foods, and several blocks in the other direction (Hope St. north of Rochambeau) is a cute neighborhood with unique specialty shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes. Only about 1.5 miles from downcity, which is just across the canal from the RISD campus.
My 2 adorable kitty-cats, Pooks (the gray one) and Piggles (the black one), will try to snuggle with you. They're allowed to go in and out freely, so don't be alarmed if they "escape" when you open the door.
If I am out of town, I will gladly offer you a $20/day discount if you're comfortable with and willing to kitty-sit (this would involve feeding the kitties and giving Piglet her heart medicine twice a day, morning and evening. I hide her little pill pieces in cream cheese, and she eats them up off my finger like they're a treat - so it's easier than it sounds!) Contact me before making your reservation if you're interested in discussing that option.
If you want to extend your stay into one or two days that are marked "unavailable", ask about them anyway; I might be able to do something for you!
For stays longer than 4 nights, you may use the washer and dryer in the basement.
Includes an off-street parking spot (Providence doesn't allow overnight parking on the street without a permit). Close to several bus stops and Zipcar lots in case you didn't bring a car.
Guests will have the guest bedroom to themselves (which sleeps 2 in a very comfortable queen-size bed), and access to the shared kitchen, living room, and dining room.
•No smoking, please!
•If you use the kitchen, please clean up afterwards (wash any pots, pans, or Wusthof knives manually, and place used dishes in the dishwasher). If you fill the dishwasher, please run it (there are detergent tabs under the kitchen sink).
•If the heater is on, please make sure all of the windows are closed. The thermostat is programmed to warm up the house in the mornings and evenings; if you’re around during the day, feel free to turn up the temperature by hitting the “up” arrow. (Keep in mind that it’s about 5 degrees warmer upstairs than the thermostat says it is downstairs.)
•If you use the pole, please know that it’s at your own risk. No lotion, no jewelry, and please clean the pole afterwards by spraying some of the alcohol spray on a washcloth and wiping it down. (Both the spray and the washcloths can be found on the top shelf of the nearby built-in glass cabinet.)
