Guest bedroom with a comfortable queen bed (with memory foam mattress pad and down comforter), empty 2-drawer nightstand for your use, loveseat, and a 3D TV.
Enjoy this fully furnished, beautifully remodeled, airy and sunny 1850 Victorian bungalow! It has 2 stories, 3 bedrooms (1 is really a study), 1.5 baths, a porch with a Costa Rican hammock for you to lounge in, and a nicely landscaped yard. Lots of plants and natural light, new paint throughout, stainless steel kitchen appliances, 3D TV in the guest room. Just 1 mile from the Brown and RISD campuses on the historic East Side.
There is a very comfortable queen-size bed with a memory foam topper and down comforter in the guest bedroom, along with a storage ottoman and a small set of drawers for your belongings.
Located in a lively residential neighborhood, but close to a shopping center with Whole Foods, and several blocks in the other direction (Hope St. north of Rochambeau) is a cute neighborhood with unique specialty shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes. About a mile south are the lively Thayer St. and the beautiful Brown and RISD campuses, and another mile south is Wickenden St., another great street with quirky shops and restaurants. And of course there's downcity, just across the canal from the RISD campus.
My 2 adorable kitty-cats, Pooks (the gray one) and Piggles (the black one), will try to snuggle with you. They're allowed to go in and out freely, so don't be alarmed if they "escape" when you open the door.
If I am out of town, I will gladly offer you a $20/day discount if you're comfortable with and willing to kitty-sit (this would involve feeding the kitties and giving Piglet her heart medicine twice a day, morning and evening. I hide her little pill pieces in cream cheese, and she eats them up off my finger like they're a treat - so it's easier than it sounds!) Contact me before making your reservation if you're interested in discussing that option.
If you want to extend your stay into one or two days that are marked "unavailable", ask about them anyway; I might be able to do something for you!
For stays longer than 4 nights, you may use the washer and dryer in the basement.
Includes an off-street parking spot (Providence doesn't allow overnight parking on the street without a permit). Close to several bus stops and Zipcar lots in case you didn't bring a car.
Guests will have the guest bedroom to themselves (which sleeps 2 in a very comfortable queen-size bed), and if I happen to be away for the weekend, the whole rest of the house as well!
•No smoking, please!
•If you use the kitchen, please clean up afterwards (wash any pots, pans, or Wusthof knives manually, and place used dishes in the dishwasher). If you fill the dishwasher, please run it (there are detergent tabs under the kitchen sink).
•If the heater is on, please make sure all of the windows are closed. The thermostat is programmed to warm up the house in the mornings and evenings; if you’re around during the day, feel free to turn up the temperature by hitting the “up” arrow. (Keep in mind that it’s about 5 degrees warmer upstairs than the thermostat says it is downstairs.)
•If you use the pole, please know that it’s at your own risk. No lotion, no jewelry, and please clean the pole afterwards by spraying some of the alcohol spray on a washcloth and wiping it down. (Both the spray and the washcloths can be found on the top shelf of the nearby built-in glass cabinet.)
Great place. Beautiful home, lot of privacy, the room is very cute, comfortable, with everything you need. Beata is very nice! I'd definitely stay here again!
We only stayed for a night, and didn't spend much time at the house. However, Beata was great--very responsive, very easy. The location is also very good. The bed was comfortable, and the bath/bedroom were very clean.
Beata was friendly and helpful. She explained where everything was the room was perfect. Very comfy bed!
A lovely host and a charming, clean, and well-designed 3-bedroom Victorian! Beata's home was perfect for our family gathering: Beata let us reserve her entire home, and our freshman son was able to bring two friends "home for dinner" during Brown's Family Weekend. Everything was tidy, beds were comfy and warm, appliances worked beautifully, and the kitties were soft and adorable. We hope to stay again when we return to Providence!
Beata communicated very well and was quite friendly! We didn't interact with her much (our schedules just didn't overlap) but booking her place all went exactly as we would have hoped. Her place is clean, comfortable, conveniently located to Providence/Brown, and her cats are very sweet as well. We're very happy we stayed here.
I appreciated Beata's help to re-acclimate to Providence, with info about parking at her house and in the college area, and other things around town. Her house is charming, neat and extremely clean, and the room is great. It's so nice to have the loveseat and the big TV, too. The bed was really comfortable. The kitties are a delight, too. The alarm was a bit tricky for me, but it was nice to have it since I stayed there alone. It was nice of Beata to make me so comfortable in her home. The guest room was like a private sanctuary.
Beata was a good host, friendly and helpful. The house was really pretty and in a quiet residential neighbourhood. Off street parking too. Walking distance to town and Brown University.
A comfortable stay- recommended if you are in Providence!
