A small and cozy yet modern and well-appointed cabin under full redwood canopy. Perfect for your Russian River or Wine Country visit!

The Space

A quiet, clean and comfortable cabin for your Russian River getaway! Shaded under a beautiful canopy of redwoods, with dappled sunlight throughout most of the day, this is perfect for enjoying the natural beauty that Guerneville has to offer.

Parallel parking available directly off the street (shared with owner and other users of the property) - additional parking area just down the road at the intersection. Note several flights of stairs to get to entrance - not handicap accessible. Stairs lead up to two separate entrances - great for couples or parties traveling together but who want to have some extra privacy for coming and going.

Upstairs living room has a double-sized sofa sleeper and full-sized couch as well as a cushy chair with ottoman (pillows and blankets for the sofa sleeper are in the ottoman).

Living room door can be closed to keep private from the bathroom shared with downstairs bedroom. Wide-screen TV with digital cable available. Open upstairs layout with large dining area and fully-appointed kitchen.

Downstairs bedroom has a Cal King bed and sitting area with ample room to spread out.

Upstairs deck has seating/picnic area with a gorgeous view of the forest.

Located conveniently just off Highway 116, approx 1.5 miles from central Guerneville shops and restaurants. Less than a mile from the Garden Grill and Northwood Park golf course and restaurant, but in a private and tranquil neighbourhood setting.

Note: Minimum 3-night stay for most major event weekends (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labour Day, Music Festivals). Minimum 4-night stay for Lazy Bear. 9% Sonoma County Vacation Rental Tax included in listed price.

Guest Access

The entire cabin is yours to enjoy! Outdoor deck space with quiet forest views, away from traffic but easy access to the highway and only a mile from the town of Guerneville. Stairs and parking shared by owner's separate residence on the property.

Interaction with Guests

Host, housekeeper and handyman may be present but will not require access to guest space.

The Neighborhood

Steep hills of the Russian River valley covered in full-canopy second-growth California coastal redwoods.

Getting around

Daily Sonoma County transit buses run on Highway 116 from approx 7am to 9pm. The nearest bus stop is approx 1 mile from the cabin via Old Monte Rio Road toward Guerneville. Otherwise approx a 1-mile walk or bike ride from town. Off-street parking available on the property. Several flights of steep stairs - not easily accessible to those with mobility issues.

Other Things to Note

Fully updated and refurbished - in the woods but with all the comforts of home!

  • We had an excellent stay here. The cabin was exactly as pictured and really a perfect fit for our family of three. The 2-level layout really adds to the functionality of the place, and the large bedroom had plenty of room for us to set up an area for our toddler. He was sound asleep as we enjoyed the upstairs for a home-cooked meal and a movie. We would definitely stay again when we want to visit the area. Mark responded to texts quickly and communication was clear and easy. Thanks!

  • Mark's place was a nice diversion from city life without being completely remote.
The house is a good size to enjoy without feeling like you're overwhelmed.

It's pretty private, although certainly not secluded. I didn't know there was a small cabin pretty close behind the house.

The town of Guerneville isn't the most amazing place ever, but that's not why you go to Mark's house! The redwood trees towering overhead are quite a nice reminder or where you are. Beautiful setting.

Sorry if wasn't a fit! 'Stairs and parking shared by owner's separate residence on the property' and 'host, housekeeper and handyman might be present but will not require access to guest space' all noted in the description and in voice/txt communiques - I'll try to find a way to make it more apparent to future guests.

  • Had a great stay at Mark's Redwoods cabin. The place was awesome and Mark was a terrific host, easily reachable and very communicative. Would absolutely recommend staying there! Guerneville is a great location too, if you want to be close to a variety of activities - vineyards, canoeing, breweries - but also very chilled out. We enjoyed hanging out on the deck in the middle of some Redwoods. Great time.

  • What a beautiful little hideaway in the woods! It was super clean, very comfortable, and had all the amenities that you could think of. We went up for 2 nights and had a wonderful time all around.

It is very close to Guerneville town "center" with great options for food and walking around. Also very close to accessing the river from the downtown area. Also very helpful was the proximity to grocery stores - we went to both Safeway and Food for Humans (a lovely little organic foods store next door to Safeway.) We ended up staying in to cook dinner our first night there and it was super helpful to be able to run down for groceries.

All in all a lovely little quiet getaway from our busy lives. We will DEFINITELY be back! Thanks, Mark!

  • Mark's cabin is located at a great spot in the woods. You are surrounded with trees in every way. Stunning views! The cabin has all the comfort you can wish for.

  • This cabin is a wonderful place to stay right near many of the best wineries, forests, and the Russian River valley in Sonoma County. We stayed here for three nights, enjoying the reprieve of location in the woods after long days around the county. Mark was a great host, easily reachable and helpful.

Driving to the cabin does take you through winding but paved mountain roads, so be patient arriving at the cabin (10 minutes from the main road). We definitely hope to stay here again!

  • Had a very nice time staying at Mark's cabin in Guerneville. Clean, spacious, comfortable. Nice, clear directions for guests, and little things like menus for local restaurants and a map of the nearby Armstrong Redwoods. No problems.

About
San Francisco Bay Area speedy cyclist who has a fixie and isn't afraid to use it. Work in both IT and hospitality, and spend the rest of my time riding my bike, building or repairing other bikes, and stealing music from teh int0rwebz. I love the redwoods of Northern California and am so privileged to be able to host guests at my property on the Russian River! This is truly what I consider one of the greatest places anywhere and you will be most welcomed into the Guerneville community if you choose to stay; whether for a local event, a quick road trip or a long vacation, it's a wonderful place to be. When traveling I prefer to experience the big city and the backwoods as a local - visit coffee houses, walk and cycle and check the price of supermarket cookies, or little-known back-country and remote destinations that really help me connect with the natural beauty of a place. I especially enjoy the cities and countryside of the west coast of North America, and have traveled extensively between central BC and southern California. My favourite travels include cycling through East Vancouver, hiking the Gulf Islands, cross-country skiing the central Sierra Nevada, soaking up the sun by the pool in Palm Springs, and of course, watching the redwoods grow along the north coast of California.
