Thanks to Robert, we made it there! Thank you for meeting us! The road was a little scary the first time! The bottle of wine was a nice touch. Thanks for the suggested wineries, we enjoyed our day! It was very quiet and wonderfully cool at night. We would recommend everyone stay at the cozy cabin in the redwoods!
We loved the cabin. The location was great among the trees. We felt like we were in a treehouse. Robert could not have been more accommodating! He even gave us champagne and a plant for my husband's celebration! The cabin is adorable and the downstairs bed was super comfy. We found everything we needed to cook. We will hopefully come again and stay there. Wonderful time!!
This house is truly lovely and quite spacious for two people. I imagine you could easily have more comfortably as well. The porch might be the best part. It is so relaxing to have a glass of wine and/or snack out there and just gaze at the breathtaking nature views. The living room/dining room/kitchen area on the main floor is cozy and homey and the kitchen is well-appointed for basic meals. Robert left his lovely homebrew and coffee and cream in the fridge. The bedroom downstairs is huge and we enjoyed sitting in front of the fireplace. The bathroom is clean and well stocked but watch out for the multiple steps inside, I definitely fell hard on the first one. It was super easy to get in and out and Robert called with directions before we arrived, but I would advise driving up the steep and curvy road in daylight the first time, its a little scary in the dark on the first try. But the parking spot and lighting up the stairs are great. Its just a 2-3 minute drive to downtown Guernville with delicious restaurants and markets.
We loved staying at this cozy cabin in Guerneville. The place was perfect for our family (2 adults, 1 toddler) and had everything we needed. Having a toddler, it was great that there were doors to close off the stairway, so she could roam around upstairs or downstairs. The setting is beautiful - like you're living in a treehouse with the redwoods all around. The kitchen was well equipped and they even left out a bottle of wine, beer, and preserves for us! Robert was very friendly in walking us through the details. The place is about 5 minutes from downtown where there is plenty of parking, and even closer to the river access. Just perfect and can't wait to return!
FYI - if you just use Google maps, it will take you directly there without confusion.
This was exactly what the two of us were looking for...quiet, comfortable, and in the redwoods. It was like being in Sherwood Forest. The photos and descriptions are accurate. This place fulfilled all top criteria for our three night stay - quiet, extremely comfortable bed (bonus - CA King!), full kitchen, washer and dryer. And I (email hidden) was quiet...amazingly quiet. More bonuses...Wi Fi and cable TV (which we used only for the music channels). Host Robert was accessible and had great suggestions for sightseeing and dining. The roads leading to the cabin are winding and a bit narrow so we purposefully planned our arrival prior to dark which I suggest for the first night. There are steps but they are well lit and easily traversed. We will stay here again if we are in the Guerneville area. This was great for the two of us and would also be a great set up for a girl's weekend or a couple with kids - the bedroom is downstairs and the kids can sleep upstairs either on the couch / sofa bed. Be sure to find all the frogs!
Mark & Robert's cabin was the PERFECT place for my 2 girlfriends and me to get away from the city and plop down literally in the middle of the redwoods. The cabin is roomy, comfy and cute with everything we needed for the weekend. Having my morning coffee outside in the redwoods and listening to the birds chirping was magical. Town is a quick jaunt away and we also walked to the nearby river beach.
Robert was closeby and super welcoming with great restaurant and winery recs. We had our private space but it was nice to know he was nearby if we needed anything.
I can't wait to come back as this is cabin is a definite gem.
By chance , Robert was at the cabin overseeing an adjoining construction when we arrived. Luckily for us, because I don't think we would have gotten the lock box open containing the house key. He gave us a tour of the cabin and a welcoming bottle of wine and jar of jam. Bedroom is cozy with freestanding fireplace to keep it warm. Redwoods all around the property.
