Cool three bed house in the middle of the woods in Castletaylor, Co Galway. A great base for Galway City. Home of the Galway Oyster Festival. The Arts Festival and of course Race Week.
The house has three bedrooms, two with queen sized beds and one bunk room with a cot. The bunk room is perfect for children or those who are young at heart. Have a good look at the pictures as it is a small room and is a bit of a squeeze for two adults
It has a luxury bathroom, a generous lounge and dining area, a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher. You have wifi and satellite TV for when you want those quiet evenings in.
The house is in a clearing in the woods where you have access to a semi-private garden and patio area. It is an annex to a main house but is fully separated.
We are down the road from Morans of the Weir - the renowned Oyster cottage. Paddy Burkes in Clarinbridge offers the best in Irish pub atmosphere and Kinvara a beautiful fishing village is a few miles away. On the other hand if you are not up for the drink and the craic we know lots of sea and wood walks where you will be lucky to see a soul.
The West of Ireland has so much to offer - the sea, walks, horseriding and the general friendliness of the locals.
Our interaction with guests is a bit inconsistent. There will always be someone there to greet you but we may not be around much afterwards... we live between UK and Ireland so cannot always guarantee to be there.
If we are there you are left to your own devices. We don't interfere unless you want us to.
In our immediate neighbourhood there are some great walks and cycles. Its a great place to let the kids potter around. we have a lovely castle down the road.
In the wider area we have the Burren, Connamara, Kinvara, Clarinbridge- all great places to see what Ireland has to offer.
A car is essential. Public transport is available but it starts about 4 miles away.
When we do airbnb ourselves we never take a car and walk everywhere- so you could use this as that opportunity?
Its pretty easygoing. No smoking in the house - but you are welcome to smoke outside.
Well behaved dogs are welcome as long as the sleep downstairs and off the sofas! We have three dogs ourselves so happy dogs are very well received by the pack.
PLease leave the place in a decent (email hidden)ats about it...
Anne's place is just delightful! Lovely, clean, warm, private and big, a perfect retreat after a day of sightseeing! Anne herself is friendly and helpful (and provided us with some basic supplies upon arrival which was much appreciated) we only talked once, but knew she was readily available if we needed her. Anne also provided with information about the area, where to go, how to get there etc, which was extremely helpful. The place is on a quiet road, near quaint villages and not too far from Galway. We had a great time, highly recommended!
Lovely house in a lovely area. Enjoyed the information of the area left in the house. A good area to explore from.
Très bel endroit l'annexe est très agréable à vivre très cosy. Nous recommandons vivement cet endroit. Propriétaire très efficace et très disponible malgré éloignement ️️️️️
A really great place to stay for R&R. Very spacious, spotlessly clean and a very high spec property with access to WiFi. Our host every left us milk, bread , and chocolates a really nice touch. A great space to explore Galway from.
If you like the modern design, that's definitely the place you want to stay. Altough we did't meet Anne personally, we felt very welcome. Nice, private, quite... What a hideout. Sure, not easy to find, but Anne (and our GPS) was very helpfull. Hope to come back sometime...
What a beautiful place! Bright and spacious. It's a little off the beaten path, but that's a good thing! If you're looking to explore County's Clare and Galway, it's the perfect launching point. We had a wonderful stay.
We truly enjoyed our time in Galway at this lovely home. The kind home owners were friendly, but not intrusive at all. It was close enough to Galway to get easily around but set out enough to feel like you were experiencing something other than urban grit. Thanks to the family for our wonderful stay!
This is our annex. It seemed like an awful waste to have this fab house and to use it so little - so this is why its on air bnb. We hope you like it and the location. I know I do.
