Cool three bed house in the middle of the woods in Castletaylor, Co Galway. A great base for Galway City. Home of the Galway Oyster Festival. The Arts Festival and of course Race Week.
The house has three bedrooms, two with queen sized beds and one bunk room with a cot. It has a luxury bathroom, a generous lounge and dining area, a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher. You have wifi and satellite TV for when you want those quiet evenings in.
The house is in a clearing in the woods where you have access to a semi-private garden and patio area. It is an annex to a main house but is fully separated.
We are down the road from Morans of the Weir - the renowned Oyster cottage. Paddy Burkes in Clarinbridge offers the best in Irish pub atmosphere and Kinvara a beautiful fishing village is a few miles away. On the other hand if you are not up for the drink and the craic we know lots of sea and wood walks where you will be lucky to see a soul.
The West of Ireland has so much to offer - the sea, walks, horseriding and the general friendliness of the locals.

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay over the christmas holidays - the house was exactly as described, also cozy, clean and warm. The location is ideal, close to Galway city, and easy access to Clare. Moran's oyster cottage in Kilcogan is a must! Can't recommend the house and the area enough!
Modern house with all facilities in beautiful quite woodland setting with great walks nearby. Car essential.
Originally we were looking for a "traditional" Irish country home for our stay, but ended up going more modern with Anne's place ... and I'm so glad we did. The house is beautiful and spacious, and she was kind enough to leave some goodies in the kitchen. The location of the house was perfect for us -- remote enough to be quiet and peaceful, but a great home base for exploring nearby Galway and the sites in and around the burren. Our family enjoyed ourselves immensely and we would love to return someday.
We had such a good time and only great impressions from this gorgeous house in the wood. The place is very quiet which is great for those who want to be away from the city. It looks a lot better in reality than on the pictures. It has anything someone would ever need (even a hair straightener). It was a last minute decision to go on a trip from Dublin and we contacted Anne a few hours before arriving. She responded within an hour and we arranged everything then. I would recommend Anne and this amazing house with no doubt. We loved it!
The home is amazing. Everything was as far better than we expected. I will definitely be coming back in the future.
Very nice welcoming in this great house indeed in the woods, very calm but not too far from Burren & Galway.
We have spent a great week-end there and can really recommend it, all the more since the living room has been newly refurbished and made really cosy.
There was four of us for the weekend races in Galway & We found house was beautiful, airy and full of light. There was double (very) spacious double bedrooms and a third room with two bunk beds and a crib (there was also car seats in the downstairs storage so perfect for a family). We had everything we needed as Anne had left everything from coffee/assorted tea/breakfast items to washing detergent to ensure that we had everything to hand.
It was set in a quiet remote location about 20 mins drive from Galway city. Phone reception can be sparse, so ideal if you are looking to get away and switch off for a while!
Anne is the perfect hostess as she is always easy to reach, friendly & thoughtful (we woke up to find she had left us a box of chocolates!). Strongly recommend this house if you are looking for a country getaway.
