Our Tahoe Chalet is a dream come true for our young family of 6. As lifelong Northern Californians, it was a no-brainer to look to South Lake Tahoe when deciding on a vacation spot to build memories with our family and friends.
Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, away from the noise of the city, our cabin awaits you. Sit on 1 of 3 balconies or on the deck and listen to the wind blow through the trees and enjoy the "all natural" pine scent.
Relax in the spa under the beautiful natural pines and enjoy each other's company. Get the kinks out after a long hike or loosen up the tail bone bruise from the hard fall you took on the slopes.
Go for a short walk. Go for a long walk. Go cross-country skiing or snowshoeing or mountain biking or snowmobiling!! Our home is just 1 block from miles of trails through the forest and meadows. Even toddlers will enjoy the 15 minute walk down to the Truckee River.
If you love skiing or snowboarding, we are just 8 minutes to Heavenly and 15 minutes to Sierra at Tahoe.
If you want to hit the beaches it's just 8 minutes as well. And we're 8 minutes to "The Y". You can get to just about anything in South Lake Tahoe in 8 minutes.
Want to enjoy the night-life without calling a cab? We have the "Smallest Pub in Lake Tahoe" right in our very own cabin. There is always something special on tap, but if you're hoping that Natural Ice or Pabst Blue Ribbon is on tap, you will surely be disappointed. We're not interested in a house full of frat boys. This is our family home and we simply want you to enjoy the pub and game room responsibly and in good taste as we do. Drink responsibly and with integrity and the pub will remain open indefinitely.
Speaking of the game room, we have a bumper pool table that will likely keep you up all hours of the night (It's addicting). There is a TV with Cable, tons of games for the kids and family and even a vending machine fully stocked with candy for the kids... and adults. So bring some quarters.

*Frangelica is a sweet lady and great with kids. If you want to get out in the evening or take an adult day excursion, let us know and we will get you her contact info. Please, give her some advance notice so she can plan around your stay.

We love our neighborhood and so do our neighbors. They choose to live here because of the calm, quiet, peaceful atmosphere outside the city. It is a block to the forest and just 8 minutes to everything in South Lake Tahoe.

This is our home and we want it to feel like your mountain home away. Please make yourselves comfortable. All we ask is that you be respectful of our house, honest about any accidents (so we can correct them for the next renter), and be responsible.
This is a quiet, peaceful neighborhood which is wonderful. We just ask that you bring any noise inside after 10:00pm. Keep the fun going in the pub or downstairs in the family room.
Upon receipt of payment you are agreeing to the following Rental Agreement:
CHECK-IN TIME is AFTER 4:00 pm AND CHECKOUT is 11:00 am. NO Early Check-in or late checkout unless authorized by owners.
This is a NON SMOKING unit.
PETS are not permitted in rental units under any conditions.
DAMAGE/RESERVATION DEPOSIT - A reservation deposit of $500 is required. This must be received within five (5) days of booking the reservation. The deposit automatically converts to a security/damage deposit upon arrival. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; however, it is fully refundable within (14) days of departure, provided the following provisions are met.
•No damage is done to unit or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear.
•No charges are incurred due to contraband, pets or collection of rents or services rendered during the stay.
•All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in the bear box, and soiled dishes are placed in the dishwasher and cleaned.
•All keys are returned to the lockbox, code is scrambled and unit is left locked.
•No linens are lost or damaged.
•NO early check-in or late checkout.
•The renter is not evicted by the owner (or representative of the owner) or the local law enforcement.
PAYMENT – An advance payment equal to 50% of the rental rate is required upon booking the reservation. The advance payment will be applied toward the rent. The advance payment is not a damage deposit. The BALANCE OF RENT is due fourteen (14) days before your arrival date.
CANCELLATIONS - A thirty (30) day notice is required for cancellation. Cancellations that are made more than thirty (30) prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within 30 days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment and reservation deposit. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent.
MONTHLY RESERVATION CANCELLATIONS – Monthly renters must cancel one hundred twenty (120) days prior to check-in. Monthly renters who make a change that results in a shortened stay must be made at least ninety (90) days prior to check-in.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY – The maximum number of guests is limited to twelve (12) persons.
MINIMUM STAY – This property requires a two (2) night minimum stay. Longer minimum stays may be required during holiday periods.
INCLUSIVE FEES – Rates include a one-time linen & towel setup. Amenity fees are included in the rental rate.
NO DAILY HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE – While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We do not permit bath towels or linens to be taken from the units, but we provide extra beach towels for your use (please wash and return to laundry room as beach towel laundering is not included in the cleaning fee).
RATE CHANGES – Rates subject to change without notice.
FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS – Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check in.
WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS – Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance.
PARKING – Parking is limited to three (3) vehicles. Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Parking on the road is not permitted in the winter. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.
WOOD BURNING STOVE – See handbook upon arrival for proper usage instructions.
WATER AND SEPTIC –DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged.
STORM POLICY/ROAD CONDITIONS – No refunds will be given for storms. Mountain roads can be curvy and steep. Gravel drives are well maintained; however, we highly recommend four wheel drive and/or chains during the snow months. We do not refund due to road conditions.
TRAVEL INSURANCE – We highly recommend all guests purchase travel insurance.
All of the units are privately owned; the owners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.

The house was warm and welcoming, and we were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it is. There were 12 of us in total who stayed in the house for a weekend of skiing, and in spite of all of us and our gear, we never felt cramped. Amber and Nathan made us feel right at home by being very easy to reach by e-mail or text, and providing us with a great "to do book" and a guest book to sign and peruse through the former guests. The hot tub is huge and heated up quickly, providing a great way to relax our muscles after a day on the slopes. The beds were all comfortable, water pressure was excellent, and the fire was toasty - couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!
Thank you Ross 6 for providing such a great space for our family holiday! The Ross Chalet easily slept 8 of us, ages 4 to 70, with plenty of room to spare for hanging out without disturbing each other. The open plan kitchen/dining/living area, with the wood stove and the huge TV, was always occupied by someone cooking or playing Mad Libs or warming up by the fire, and there was privacy for those who were napping elsewhere in the house.
Spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. Everything you could need was provided, all the details were thought through, and the place was pleasantly clean and tidy, with charming decor and a family vibe. The hot tub was immaculate, and everything from the grill to the coffee grinder was in proper working order. It's also worth mentioning to prospective guests who may be considering their options that this was a great value. During the busy season at Tahoe, many other hosts raise their prices to much higher levels for similar or even lesser accommodations.
The location was perfect for what we were looking for-- close to enough of a variety of resorts to keep skiers interested, and close enough to town to keep non-skiers busy. The hike down to the river from the house took us longer than most, since we had little 4 year-old legs to account for, but it was beautiful and twice as fun in the snow with little 4 year-old legs! Also want to put a plug in here for Wattabike, at the corner of Pioneer Trail and 50, behind the 76 station, for fixing my broken binding for $15 and giving me rentals for two days for $10! As well as taking the time to help us figure out which resort had the best conditions for us on a snowy day with 100-mph winds at the summits.
Not only were we celebrating Christmas and New Year's, but we had two grandmothers celebrating birthdays, and the Ross Chalet was the perfect place to make those family memories that I hope we'll still be harking back to when I'm the grandpa! Thanks so much again Nathan and Amber for being the consummate hosts, and I wish your family all the best in the future!

I have been looking forward to writing this review ever since I left Nathan and Amber's beautiful home.
To say that our stay was perfect, would be an understatement. I have never felt more at home with an AirBNB rental than I did at their amazing place. We were provided all we needed upon arrival, making things nice and easy.
They were available any time I had even the smallest of questions, which was awesome, and were so nice about everything. Seriously the best hosts you could ask for.
You really don't need to look any further for a place to stay if you're heading to South Lake Tahoe. The absolute best!
About the Host, Nathan And Amber
My wife and I are high school sweethearts that love great food, traveling and family. With four young children, my wife has been tasked to stay home and raise our children while I run our small business (Art Gallery and Toy Store) in Placerville (Old Hangtown), CA.
We grew up in Folsom, CA and after graduating from Azusa Pacific University in southern California, we were anxious to get back to a more reasonable pace of life in northern California to start our family.
Amber, a baker by love, has blossomed into a remarkable cook by necessity. Most weekends we entertain our friends and family with fun themed meals, great music and lively conversation.
Our 4 kids keep us busy, laughing, frustrated, confused, smiling, rolling our eyes, and continually trying to figure out the best way to raise them into amazing adults.
Amber and I have always loved traveling and real estate and look for opportunities to fulfill both loves. We have recently fallen in love with the beauty of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountain landscapes with vast forests, miles of trails and year-round activities. Only 1.5 hours from door to door, this seemed like the perfect getaway spot to build memories with our young family and enjoy with our friends. However, we cannot enjoy the chalet full-time, nor do we want to the burden of the entire mortgage :-) so we are excited to offer our little chalet with the "Smallest Pub in Lake Tahoe" to others that need a beautiful, comfortable, escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and the burbs.
