The views from the Studio are spectacular, across farmland to the mountains and the Mt Avalanche Glacier.
The private, self-contained, spacious studio is situated on the ground floor of the house. It contains a queen and single bed, has an ensuite bathroom, a well equipped kitchenette, flat screen T.V, free WI-Fi, independent access, a private patio with outdoor furniture and BBQ surrounded by a lovely, peaceful garden.
All linen is provided. A separate twin bedroom, with 2 single beds is available with the studio, if you are traveling with family or friends. All the rooms are situated on the ground floor of the house.
The "Garden Suite," a separate listing, with a queen size bed, ensuite bathroom and small sitting/dining room can also be booked if you are traveling as two couples.
We also provide delicious continental breakfast provisions and home baking, delivered to your room each day, which includes home made muesli, a large variety of cereals, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, wholemeal toast bread, orange juice, muffins and biscuits, plunger coffee and a large range of teas.
We also have books, DVDs and board games for guests.
There is a separate access door to the Studio.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the garden and use the BBQ/grill on their patio and play croquet on the lawn.
Interaction with guests
Trish and Davy live on the top floor of the house and are happy to help guests plan their activities while they are here. We run the accommodation as a business and enjoy meeting people from around the world. We also respect your privacy and will have as much contact with you as you wish.
We also have a very friendly little dog, Poppy, who adores guests and any attention you choose to bestow upon her and an adventurous cat, Tiggy.
If you don't like dogs or cats, this is not the place to stay!
Avalanche B & B is situated on a quiet street 2.5 km from the town centre on the outskirts of Wanaka. We are located beside the Rippon Vineyard farm where horses graze over the property fence. You can also visit the Vineyard, with the most incredible views over Lake Wanaka and Ruby Island, for wine tastings. We are also close to wonderful walking and bike tracks and just 10 minutes walk to the lake and a quality restaurant at the Edgewater Resort.
We have off road parking on the property for guests' vehicles.
Mountain bikes for exploring,off street parking are also available.
It is just a 10 minute walk to the lake and a 30 minute walk or a few minutes drive to the centre of Wanaka.

We offer warm hospitality in our comfortable home in a lovely, peaceful garden setting. Your hosts, Trish and Davy, enjoy meeting guests from all over the world and are happy to help you plan any activities in this wonderful piece of paradise.
Trish enjoys reading, gardening, walking, baking and supplying her guests with delicious home made provisions during their stay. She also loves spending time with her daughter and two granddaughters who live close by.
Davy also operates a luxury launch and offers fishing, lake cruising, private charters, picnics and guided island tours on Lake Wanaka. He loves his job!
