I would highly recommend this property. It is in a beautiful setting with spectacular views. It was clean and decorated well and had all the amenities we needed. Ursula came and checked in with us and gave us local tips on walking tracks and a shortcut to Abel Tasman. It was hard…

We had a great stay - all the necessities provided and an excellent jumping off point to explore the Abel Tasman national park. Great for groups with plenty of bedding and en suites. We particulalry loved the wood fire!

Great hosts who are very welcoming and provided a cozy home. Fantastic views from the house to wake up to and a well equipped house in general. Area is quiet secluded with no signage, so be sure you have directions mapped clearly in advance. Closest shops are atleast 15-20mins d…

Response from Edward And Ursula:
Thanks for your feedback...we do appreciate hearing your thoughts and suggestions. Such a shame you didn't ask us where to swim... We swim in the Motueka River (which is much warmer than the Pearse). There are two swimming places not far from us which are great for young children (they have sandy beaches and shade). As we are on the Western Ranges, we do get sandflies (but luckily no mosquitoes), so it is advisable, especially if the weather is overcast to have insect repellent. Most people come here to get away from the city and understand that we are not near shops...we give very clear instructions for the finding the property on our welcome letter and have deliberately chosen not to signpost the Retreat so we don't get people driving up to have a look and disturb our guests (this happened when we had a sign).
