About This Listing
Victorian garden apartment located in ideal Mission setting - quiet tree-lined street minutes away from restaurants, clubs, galleries and Mission culture. Designed and furnished expressly for those desiring the privacy and luxury of a good hotel combined with the spirit of San Francisco, this apartment is ideal for those wanting the comforts of home in an amazing location to venture out for city exploring.
The Mission District is one of the sunniest neighborhoods in San Francisco and convenient to downtown, the Castro District, Moscone Center, the Design District, as well as Dolores Park and AT&T park.
Ground floor of a historic Victorian from the 1890's, this large studio apartment has a private entrance, hardwood floors, beautifully mosaic-ed bathroom, high ceilings and period details. It is charming and fully furnished with an organic cotton queen bed, luxurious bedding, plenty of storage space and a large, cheerful, and fully equipped eat-in kitchen. For a studio apartment, this is on the large side, with a wide and long hallway that serves as office space.
The entry hallway has a couch that folds into a twin sized mattress. It's a tight fit, but perfect for that third person, or if quests prefer not to share the queen bed.
A beautiful garden and historic carriage house is right out your kitchen window and there is shared washer and dryer if required. The apartment is stocked with maps, guidebooks, and local magazines.
24th Street Bart (Bay Area Rapid Transit, SF's Subway) is a ten minute walk away, and a bus line that goes straight downtown is one block away. Parking is street only, but you'd be staying in one of the most walkable neighborhoods in the country, and have access to multiple forms of public transportation.
Please contact me if you have any questions about the unit.
First and foremost: respect our neighbors! The building is 3 units, and the other 2 are have full-time residents. We're all a great bunch in the building, but please be appropriately quiet, especially at night.
Please, absolutely NO smoking in the apartment or back garden.
We loved this space. The bed was big and comfy. The apartment was decorated well and we felt very comfortable. The location for us was great! We walked to AT&T park to watch a game, and walked over to the Castro without an issue. The bus lines were close and we were able to take them anywhere we couldn't walk. Also if you want an amazing coffee, lots of great places within walking distance.
Great apartment! We had 3 people stay and there enough space. The location is great, right by the mission. A lot of great restaurants and sights. Would definitely recommend to a friend!
The listing was accurate except the garden was not in good shape so sitting outdoors was not an option. I was disappointed to have no contact with our host, Bryan other than a note in the apartment. The neighborhood was interesting once we explored and found out what was there. Parking was a challenge without a resident sticker. The best parking spots for guests for future reference were around York and 18th/19th where you park nose into the curb.
Though we never met Bryan, the place was in tip top shape when we arrived. He had even left a personalized note with some helpful tips around the Mission District. The apartment was very clean and spacious and had the character to match the Mission to boot. Everything that we could possibly ask for was there. 10/10 would be back again!
We had a great time at th House of York, thank you Bryan!
The apartment was very clean, comfortable, spacious and
very well located. I highly recommend this place!
The apartment was really adorable, and Bryan was very thoughtful and helpful as a host. There wasn't much that needed to be said between us, since everything was so lovely, but he did a great job of making himself available for any questions or concerns we may have had. I would definitely stay here again!
About the Host, Bryan
I live in one of the greatest homes in the Mission. This house is full of artists, activists, and people who do good work for the world, so if you stay here you are in fabulous company. I am currently working on my nursing degree and I am managing this apartment to help make it happen.
