  • Had an excellent stay in Cyril's. Couldn't have any complaints at all really, everything was as described. He was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, and helpful with directions and any other questions we had. The breakfast the following morning was also superb. Would highly recommend this B&B!

  • We were really happy with the accommodation and the location was very good. Cyril was a marvellous host with lots of information and help. Breakfast was well catered for and he went out of his way to meet our requirements - even bought bread from a bakery bearing our surname.

  • If you want a true authentic Irish experience with amazing hospitality, this is the B&B to select!

Cyril was an accommodating host who went out of his way to explain the history of Cork as well as drop us off at the Blarney Stone. Granted I doubt the transportation he provided us is typical ... It just happen to work out since he needed to visit his mother. Regardless, the point I want to convey is that he went above and beyond as a host!

In addition to being a wonderful host, Cyril is an AMAZING cook!!! Please select the full Irish breakfast ... You won't regret it!!!

As far as location, the B&B is in walking distance of train station and town.

    Simply put, I'd stay again.

  • We couldn't have been happier with our experience at Clarence Terrace B&B.

Cyril is a truly gracious and conscientious host. Firstly, he provided us excellent guidance on places to go, travel tips, and directions around the city. On our first morning in Cork, it was raining and the winds were blowing at around 30 mph. Despite the rain, our spacious room on the second floor was so comfortable, I would have been fine relaxing inside instead of venturing out. Though, we are not ones to be cowed by inclement weather and we resolved to head out to the Cork Public Museum taking the bus. We ran into Cyril on the way out and he offered to drive use all the way to the museum! We, of course, accepted. Turns out the museum was closed so Cyril drove us to the municipal art gallery (which was great). Cyril's ride made all the difference in the world for us.

Lastly, we loved the breakfast Cyril served us both mornings (included in room charge). His coffee was one of the best (strong) brewed for us in Ireland and he also provided tea, orange juice, and milk. A bowl of fresh berries and fruit was laid out as well with a large selection of healthy cereals from which to choose . I for one took advantage of Cyril's full Irish breakfast options which included the standard sausage, bacon, eggs, roasted tomato, black/white pudding. Both mornings, the breakfast kept me full all day till we grabbed dinner at night.

Cyril's final act of hospitality was to move his car, before our leaving the next morning, so I would have an easier time turning around in the (somewhat) tight parking area in front of his building.

When you visit Cork, stay at Cyril's.

  • We had a good experience at Cyril's. He helped us with info about Cork. He even booked the bus ticket back to Dublin.

  • Cyril was very friendly and full of information and suggestions about Cork. He provided a wonderful spread for breakfast. The accommodations themselves were clean and spacious. The B&B is just a short walk to downtown Cork.

  • Cyril's place is AMAZING! location is great, room is stunning, and have you OWN bathroom!!! Food is awesome!! and Cyril him self is a delight! He communicates well, and if you have the time to chat his breadth of knowledge is amazing, he even sent us away with background knowledge on my wife's family history in Ireland!!

Great place!! I would stay again and recommend it to family in a heartbeat!

About
Having graduated from University College Cork with a Commerce degree I worked in our family hotel outside Cork city for over 20 yrs. I now run a small bed and breakfast close to the city center of Cork. With a strong mixture of Gaelic and Norman blood running through my veins I am very interested in Irish and European history. Having studied Gaelic, Latin, French,Italian and Spanish I would like to have the time to master some of them.I tend more towards classical music with a strong bias to Italian Opera.
