The Space

Situated in a leafy suburb overlooking Cork's inner harbour 2 Clarence Terrace is a fine example of a late Georgian townhouse only 10 mins walk from the city center.. While built in early 1800s and retaining period features from window panes through to floors doors and fireplaces we also offer modern comforts and conveniences including free wifi and private car parking. We have 2 large south facing rooms rooms each containing a king sized bed(suitable for 1 or 2 person), comfortable armchairs and large writing desks . The rooms also offer commanding views out over the city for a distance of 10 miles as befitting a former resident of the 1880s Maj. General A. Stubbs. Breakfast encompasses the range from fresh fruit salad, yogurt and museli through to the full Irish.

  • Great experience in Cork. Cyril was very friendly & helpful with places to go for food & drink & with attractions around west Cork the next day. The breakfast was fantastic with fresh fruit & the full Irish, cereals of all types available also. We couldn't recommend the Clarence Terrace B&B highly enough & will definitely be returning the next time we venture south.

  • We had a wonderful time with Cyril. He was a most gracious host. His breakfasts were fantastic. The room was spacious. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. But most of all Cyril's knowledge of the Cork area and daily suggestions and hand drawn maps were invaluable to our exploration of the countryside. He was a wonderful conversationalist and very open to sharing his "story"

  • Cyril's house was absolutely beautiful and his knowledge of Irelands History lets you enjoy where you are that much more. So many different things are only a few minutes away, making the location perfect!

And Breakfast was to die for.

The room itself makes you feel like you are in a luxurious Castle.

  • Had a fantastic stay at Cyril's. Beautiful ornate rooms with everything you need for a great price and in a great location, and a perfect host in Cyril. We had a beautiful breakfast with fresh fruit and a fry-up cooked by Cyril, who was so helpful with directions and advice for our stay. Couldn't recommend the place highly enough and will stay again next time in Cork. Thanks Cyril!

  • Had a wonderful stay in Cork at Cyril's place. The room was elegant and comfortable. His taste in furnishings and art is very tasteful and creates the perfect ambiance for reading, chatting and relaxing. Cyril made me a FULL Irish breakfast and it was very delicious with all sorts of offerings. The location was terrific--very close to the train station and reasonable walking distance to the bus station and downtown. The setting is also near many interesting pubs and eating places. I was especially impressed that he had someone waiting for my arrival since he needed to be elsewhere at that particular time period. You will love your stay here.

  • Excellent experience. Cyril is absolutely gorgeous and full of knowledges. The B&B is fabulous, located in a good area very close to the city center. The house is decorated with tasted and clean, it's very charming! We were feeling like prince and princess :)
Plus we had an amazing breakfast.
Too bad we stay just one night but we'll come back for sure!
One of the best B&B so far.

  • Of the 4 places we stayed on our 10 day trip to Ireland, Cyril's was by far the best. He is so quick to respond and thorough with his information. And after we got there, he was more pleasant than we could have hoped for. He's very knowledgable about the city and would chat with us at breakfast (which was a delicious and huge feast). It was so nice to get to really talk to a local!
I thought the en suite room we stayed in was very large and comfortable, and he has several handy brochures to reference for the city. If you're going to Blarney Castle, I would definitely recommend going early in the morning to beat the larger crowd.

  • Excellent location, comfortable lodgings, a friendly host who helped us plan our travel around the area, and a delicious breakfast! What more could you ask?

  • Had an excellent stay in Cyril's. Couldn't have any complaints at all really, everything was as described. He was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, and helpful with directions and any other questions we had. The breakfast the following morning was also superb. Would highly recommend this B&B!

About
Having graduated from University College Cork with a Commerce degree I worked in our family hotel outside Cork city for over 20 yrs. I now run a small bed and breakfast close to the city center of Cork. With a strong mixture of Gaelic and Norman blood running through my veins I am very interested in Irish and European history. Having studied Gaelic, Latin, French,Italian and Spanish I would like to have the time to master some of them.I tend more towards classical music with a strong bias to Italian Opera.
