Living in a balinese family compound means that you will have many friendly, neighbors. The compound is home to a large extended family, all of whom are very involved in traditional Balinese life, and committed to our village ceremonies. Many of these ceremonies also take place in the family temple which is in the middle of the compound. We welcome you to participate if you choose. In fact, we encourage our guests to join us to get the true feeling of Balinese culture. We can always help you through the experience and provide the traditional wear. We can also introduce you to some local craftspeople if you're interested in Balinese art and clothing.

We had a lovely stay in Payogan.
Ketut and his family are very friendly, they gave us so many advices for rental a motorbike, find a driver (special mention to Made who was a brilliant guide who speak English and gaves us many informations : we loved him) or what we have to see in Ubud, places where we can eat... We were like a part of Ketut's family, his wife make wonderful banana pancakes for breakfast, the homemade bread is great too. We think that's the real Baly !!
We made cooking lesson with Nyoman( Ketut's sister) and it was a real good Balinese experience.
Payogan is close Ubud 5 minutes by motorbike and we really enjoyed Balinese campaign .
The room is modern clean with hot water and AC. The place is very green and peaceful.
At the beginning we thought we stay only 2 nights but we loved so much Payogan home stay and Ketut that we stay 5 nights more.
Thank you so much Ketut , for sure if we go back in Bali we have to see you again in Payogan.
Ketut and his family are wonderful hosts. He endeavors to please. He is doing all the right things and making this a true Bali experience. I loved the smell of the flowers in the room. Aside for his great impersonation of a lizard, he can arrange all sorts of things for you at a discount too. Rafting and other activities. Have his wife prepare dinner. She is a wonderful cook. Overall wonderful experience. We love you Ketut!!!
Staying at Ketut's house was a really great experience. He welcomed us in his village with his family. He was very helpful in organizing activities at a fair price. We were lucky enough to be there and join in a village precession to ubud central. His village is just under an hour walk and 10 minute drive from the center of town, we enjoyed the walk into town and if you negotiate the ride back is 40k(~3.30USD). This is not a hotel, it is a homestay. Very sweet family but not for people looking for hotel characteristics. However, it is a quite place away from the surprising bustle of ubud.
