Chiar daca am stat doar o noapte si am rezervat cu foarte putin timp inainte, Marius a facut tot efortul ca sa ne pregateasca apartamentul si sa ne simtim comozi. Recomand!
There were 4 of us (my wife, me and our 2 kids) living in Marius apartment for 2 weeks in August 2015. It was my first time using airbnb, so we were little afraid of how we settle all the issues. Anything were fine, though, mostly due to Marius: he's the best host ever, very helpful and not annoying. He was always in touch via Skype and helped us with most of the things like getting to the apartment, finding nearest supermarket, the nearest beach etc.
As for apartment, frankly speaking, it's quite weary, but very clean. We feel ourslef like in grandmother's house. There was a bed for us in bedroom, and a coach for kids in living room. We also used A/C and washing maschine. Please note, that there's no microwave oven in the apartment. All windows have air meshes, so there's no problems with insects.
Apartment is located in safe and pretty quiet part of the town. There are only 2 types of noices from the sreet: emergency cars sirens (due to the hospital nearby) and seagulls. In 15 minutes walk through Nicola Iorga street there's a great beach, much better than Mamaia. The old town is in about 2 km (5 minutes on the bus).
The place Marius has is definitely good for the price, but do not have any other expectations, it is as shown in the pictures - a bit old and unimpressive.
The place could really use some renovations, especially the kitchen and the bathroom.
Also, the pillows were pretty lumpy and we were asked to not use too many towels if not necessary because he has other guests coming the next day in the morning.
Overall good-ish for the price, but I would only recommend this as a fallback solution if other places are all booked out.
Marius was a very nice host, giving us loads of useful tips about the city and the Romanian beaches and restaurants in general.
The apartment was in a decent location, equally close to a smaller beach, to Mamaia, and to the old city. It was also equipped with plates and pots in the kitchen, a washer, and plan B toiletries in the washroom in case you forgot your own. It had no Wi-Fi for the duration of our stay, but there are many interesting books in the living room.
Four of us stayed in the apartment, and our only significant disappointment with it was the couch. It was rather small and sloped to the ground when opened, and was pretty uncomfortable for two adults to sleep on. We ended up sleeping on the floor. The bedroom bed, however, was comfortable.
In a nutshell, then, we had a very nice time at Marius' apartment, but with the current couch, we suggest it for three guests maximum, or with extra sleeping bags.
The host was very friendly, the position is perfect and everything was excelent!
Très bon accueil de Marius, ponctuel et très serviable: il nous a donné toutes les informations dont nous pourrions avoir besoin.
L'appartement est impeccable et bien situé
I originally chose this apartment listing because it was very close to where my friend lives.
In addition, it looked like a nice neighborhood when I researched it and, indeed, it is a quiet, tree-lined area with a lovely park nearby. The apartment is also close to a major road with quick accessibility to public transportation and taxis.
My communication with Marius was generally quite good. He provided me with useful information such as emergency numbers, taxi company numbers, and the bus and public transportation route numbers.
There was one spot of trouble. I had told Marius that I would be arriving late, and I think there was a bit of miscommunication about whether I should get the key from Marius' partner Adrian or just collect it from under the mat. In the end, they left the key under the mat and I had trouble finding the apartment in the dark. Though Marius had left two phone numbers and email addresses, I was not able to reach him. To be fair, it was after 10 pm and I couldn't expect Marius to be available 24 hours a day. After all, he's not running a hotel. In the end it worked out.
Marius calls this a cozy apartment. Though it is a one bedroom, there is more than enough room for two people, and maybe a third sleeping in the front room.
The internet worked, so whatever was plaguing earlier reviewers was solved. I do wish I could have gotten the television working. Frankly, I need a little background noise in strange places.
If you want to stay in a quiet, decent neighborhood in the middle of Constanta, and don't mind a fourth floor walk-up, then I think I can recommend this listing.
