We are here to help you with your journey and over joyed to meet new people. You have the option for complete privacy, peace and quiet or are most welcomed to share with us your stories and questions. Your choice. We can cook wonderful meals as well should you chose to share a meal or two.
We are also a registered "natural wildlife habitat". A program set up by the National Wildlife Federation to help people promote natural native habitats in their own backyards.
With 2.5 acres here we are home to so many birds and wildlife. A birders delight. Everyday you will find almost every bird that visits western ny. With the exception of the days when our resident hawk is sitting in the trees. At those times the other birds tend to run away. I know I would!
Note: yes Gerry and I have a dog (SlipperyPete) and two cats. BUT, and this is a big but, they never ever enter the apartment. The cozy studio apartment is a complete separate unit and it is very animal free. No dander, no hair, no snifly noses and no watery eyes.
You will have a self contained apartment with private entrance and your own driveway for convenient off street parking.
Interaction with Guests
I take my cues from my guests. They can have complete solitude or they can socialize and visit us anywhere in our home, their apartment or the garden outdoors. I encourage people to enjoy their stay just as they dream to.
It is SUBURBAN. It is quiet and it is very safe.
Yes- the car is almost a must! Walking and getting around on foot will require a healthy pair of legs and a lot of patience. It can be done but you will find yourself the only ones on the sidewalks. But again it can be done. Transit is Extremely limited but a Taxi fare could help.
Other Things to Note
You will have a Queen Sized bed.
We have a dog and cats, however the apartment does not. The cats NEVER enter the apartment so it will be cat dander free. We may allow for a dog guest. But a cleaning fee may be applied.
This is such a lovely space & we really enjoyed out stay! Jeffrey is a great host, giving us local information & being really welcoming whilst giving us privacy. The studio has everything you could need and is so well thought out and homely! The location is quiet & peaceful while being a short drive from all the things you need & really convenient for Niagara Falls. Would really recommend you stay!
Jeff's spot was a perfect getaway. Quiet, clean, spacious, and a stone's throw from all of Buffalo. Jeff was a warm and polite host. My fiancée and I loved it!
Jeffrey's place is warm and cozy. It's a studio in-law apartment attached to his home. The place feels nice and secluded, being set back off the road and on a large piece of property. The studio was very fresh and tidy, with a nice coffee machine/grinder, gas range, and washer/dryer in unit. Jeffrey was very friendly and welcoming. We chatted for a good 30 minutes upon my arrival. He was very responsive when I had trouble getting online with his wifi, which was appreciated. I would stay here again when i'm in Amherst on business. Thank you for a wonderful and relaxing stay, Jeffrey.
Our experience in Amherst was excellent. Jeffrey was a kind and welcoming host, but we also had excellent privacy. The accommodations were very nice and cozy. There is a kitchenette, dining area and large bathroom with laundry. The space was able for us to host our friends there for an afternoon and is decorated beautifully with art and antiques. We will be back!
This is a pleasant apartment in a quiet neighborhood. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was very good, and the place was pleasantly warm in spite of sub-zero temperatures outside! The place isn't fancy, but feels home-like, and had plenty of room. It had everything we needed in the kitchen, including a toaster oven, coffeemaker, and half'n'half and a couple of bottles of beer in the fridge!
We only met Jeffrey for a few minutes, as we spent most of the weekend visiting friends, but he was very friendly and made it clear that if we needed anything just to let him know. It’s a testament to how clear and thoroughly labelled everything was that we never needed to! He also had communicated really well with us about our arrival timing and logistics, and had made sure the driveway was cleared of snow before our arrival.
In the winter, the bare trees make this place less secluded than it sounds like it feels in the summer, but there's plenty of space between the house and the neighbors' so it's very quiet. The apartment has its own entrance, so we were able to arrive back late at night without worrying about disturbing our hosts.
I can't say enough about my stay. The studio was perfect and had everything I needed. Jeff and Slippery Pete were very friendly and made me feel at home. It's great to finally find a place for my extended trips back home while visiting family and friends. I look forward to my next visit. Thank you!
