With 2.5 acres here we are home to so many birds and wildlife. A birders delight. Everyday you will find almost every bird that visits western ny. With the exception of the days when our resident hawk is sitting in the trees. At those times the other birds tend to run away. I know I would!
Note: yes Gerry and I have a dog (SlipperyPete) and two cats. BUT, and this is a big but, they never ever enter the apartment. The cozy studio apartment is a complete separate unit and it is very animal free. No dander, no hair, no snifly noses and no watery eyes.
Jeff is awesome, such a great host and very accomodating. This was my second stay, brought my wife along this time who is a diva when it comes to traveling and she loved the coziness and country setting! When we were leaving on Sunday morning, we woke up to several inches of snow and a buried auto. Jeff was kind enough to shovel a path for us so we could make it out easily. I will be staying again next time I visit Buffalo! That is if there are any openings. Thanks again Jeff!!
Loved the place, enjoyed the stay very much. Jeffrey was a wonderful host (thanks for the beer), and the location was perfect for visiting Niagara Falls and other nearby attractions.
The studio is exactly as advertised in the pictures. It is really nice and comfortable. We were there in early march, and even though it was still pretty cold outside, the place was warm and cozy. The place was great, very clean, easy to find, and definitely better priced than any hotel in the area.
If you decide to stay there and visit downtown Buffalo or UB, you need to have a car. I believe this is pretty obvious because the location, but nonetheless, you should keep that in mind. It is kind of far from the downtown if you expect to go back and forward several times the same day. On the other hand, if you plan to go to the falls or visit the downtown and then come back after nice long journey, this is definitely your place. It feels like home.
Besides the place, you will have the advantage of having a great host. Jeffrey and Pete (his dog) are extremely nice and welcoming. He will help you and give any information you will need about the area. We had a great conversation with him, he was really nice to us.
This is a lovely, cozy,( is it weird to say funky fresh?) It's a really good spot. It's got a fun but calm vibe and had everything my boyfriend and I needed for the weekend, down to the variety of spices in the cupboard. Compact, yet spacious, and super clean. I would recommend it to anyone. Definitely a gem. Jeff and Gerry, (and Pete) were super friendly and kind, and Jeff gave us great recommendations for food and going out in Buffalo that I would have been clueless about otherwise. Thanks again!
The house in Amherst… is a grand little place. It’s what used to be known as a “mother-in-law” studio apartment, over the garage. It’s just big enough for comfort, and the amenities are just right. The heat works perfectly, the hot water is plentiful with good pressure (and the shower’s not dinky!), the gas range is full-sized as is the washer/dryer and it's spotless. For us, the location was perfect for visits to family/friends in Niagara Falls & Buffalo; with groceries/eats/shops all within five minutes of the place. Add to that, the hosts are gracious and unobtrusive. I’ve stayed in B&B’s and the like where I saw more of the hosts than of my traveling companion (feh!)… these guys are tops! For my sweetie (now mine spouse) the added attraction was Slippery Pete. I’m not a critters kinda guy, but the goofy hound’s benign and responds well to pets as well as the dog treat du jour. All in all – I’d come here again happily- even with the verdamnt snow. - John
Jeff, Gerry and Slippery Pete are awesome and made my first trip to western New York a pleasure. - Stacy
It's been great staying with Jeff and Gerry. I had a wonderful time with them and the studio is absolutely beautiful, cozy and warm. You will find everything you need there, and Jeff is the kindest person and host ever! If I ever come back to Buffalo this is for sure the place I would stay again. I' m so greatful I found this place thanks to airbnb. It's been a great experience!! Thank you sooooo much, Jeff. Best for you and Gerry! Love. Paula
I visit my mother in Buffalo (Williamsville) frequently and, sometimes, for long stretches of time. But since she's now living in an assisted living facility, it is no longer possible for me to stay with her. Well, after many expensive and impersonal hotel stays, I finely decided to try airbnb. And, boy, am I thrilled! On my first try I found Jeffrey and his wonderful, homey, perfect studio apartment. I can't give his hospitality (warm, but never intrusive), and the accommodations (as I said, perfect) higher praise. It's the ideal home away from home - very clean, very comfortable -- I plan to be back many, many times!
Exactly ad pictured. Extremely quiet and private. Nicely decorated with s mix of modern, antique and fine art paintings and etchings. VERY CLEAN. The bed is excellent and the quality of the sheets is very nice with above average thread count and 100% cotton. Plenty of parking.
The host is kind, engaging and more than accommodating and gracious. There if needed but all but invisible when not.
Location is close to tons of shopping, restaurants, movies etc....
The kitchen has every concievable spice and lots of condiments. Choice of drip or perk coffee makers and a good assortment of pots, pans, cool vintage dishes and the essential cast iron skillet. Appliances are newer and work perfectly including full size washer and dryer.
A great stop if visiting Buffalo and a terrific host and apartment.Looking forward to staying in the spring to see the amazing garden in bloom.
Very clean and cozy studio. Host did a good job keeping driveway clear.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Jeff's house for three nights and it was great. The apartment was clean, comfortable and just right. Jeff was a great host. He was there when we needed him and also allowed us our personal space. He was extremely helpful and was so welcoming during NYE, offering us food and drink when we came home early that night.
Im extremely happy with this apartment and Jeff as a host and will be more than willing to come back for another stay.
