PLEASE NOTE: I'm only accepting reservations from people with at least a few Airbnb reviews.
That being said, if you have some reviews, thank you for considering my place. I'm renting out my entire 2 bedroom, one bathroom house in Sacramento to responsible travelers. This is an older craftsman home that is close to downtown, walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, stores, and Safeway. I'm also a block from McKinley Park, with its rose garden, tennis courts, and duck pond. This is one of the best locations in town if you like accessibility to all Sacramento has to offer but also like some quiet and tranquility. The main bedroom has a Cal King size bed, while the second has a Queen bed. A large couch can accommodate a fifth person if needed.
I have two friendly indoor/outdoor cats, as well as two back yard hens (outdoor only). The cats will likely need to be fed while you are here (which is why the low pricing), but the hens will be self-sufficient in their coop for up to four days at a time. Unless you care to let the hens out in which case I'll leave you hen-keeping instructions. Both the cats and hens are quiet and well behaved. The bus line stops across the street and goes downtown, but you can also foot it if you don't mind walking. Feel free to use the kitchen. Washer/dryer available upon request. Weekends are generally more convenient for me to rent so its reflected in the lower rental price during most weekends.. Longer rentals are also appreciated which is why weekly and monthly rentals are highly discounted.
Again, please do not request a rental if you do not have at least a few Airbnb reviews. I'm sorry to sound so adamant, but I've spent much time the past few months responding to requests from people with no reviews . The only way I can feel secure leaving my home to strangers is if you've been reviewed by other Airbnb users. A phone conversation or your employer website unfortunately will not do the trick. I hope you understand and thank you for your consideration. Joe
I ask that you follow the golden rule and treat the house and animals as you would your own.
We had a great stay at Joe's place and it was a perfect home base for a nearby wedding. It is in a great location for walking, groceries, and places to eat, drink and hang out in midtown. His cats are sweet and the chickens are fun to care for. Joe was an exceptionally communicative and helpful host and left us very clear directions for everything we needed. His home is full of interesting pieces and architecture and the yard is wonderful.
Joe was very welcoming, gave great advice on how to get into town and showed us around the house in detail to make sure we knew where everything was. He left extra keys for us, which was very convenient and his place and neighborhood were really quite nice. The chickens were easy to care for and a lot of fun to have around. His cats were very loving too.
The Craftsman bungalow home was everything as described and met our needs perfectly. The cats were perfectly behaved, one very friendly, the other somewhat more typically standoffish, but still approachable and pet-able! :) Loved the hens and chicks, making our stay a unique experience. the neighborhood is great and conveniently close to anything you might want to do. Joe maintained good communication with us and there were no problems. Place was perfect for a stay in Sacramento!!
Joe was great and super easy to work with. The house is very nice with a big backyard and some cute chickens. Perfect for our two families with small kids. Thanks Joe!
We loved staying at Joe's home. It was a home away from home! We loved the backyard and the chickens. My daughters enjoyed trying to get the chickens back in the coop. :) We got a lot of good laughs watching them. The cats are super sweet.
The location is wonderful. We loved the being able to walk to Safe-Way grocery store and McKinley park. We would definitely stay there again. Joe is wonderful to work with. Thanks for everything Joe!
Joe's place provided a wonderful location for us as we attended a conference at Cal State Sacramento. Joe provided excellent instructions and information which made our stay very easy. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, and we have never met more affectionate cats! The area was perfect for finding good food options and easy shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Joe was a wonderful host - good communication, easy arrangements!
A couple colleagues and I stayed at his house while at a conference at the convention center, and it worked out great. It's about a half hour walk, which I enjoyed, but others took the bus and said it ran pretty frequently and was easy to use. It was really nice to have a quiet place of our own, away from the sort of generic convention hotels.
The house was clean and well-equipped, and we enjoyed hanging out in the yard with the cats and chickens! Fresh eggs were a treat, too. I would definitely like to stay here again if I'm ever back in Sacramento.
I'm an Air Pollution Specialist at the California Air Resources Board. I love to travel and live in Sacramento where I have a nice house with three backyard egg-laying hens. I'm easygoing, honest, responsible, fun and intellectually curious. I enjoy biking, yoga, coffee and people watching. I am not religious but believe in the Golden Rule.
