The Space

Large, fantastic top floor two bedroom two bath 1600 sq ft penthouse in the heart of KTown Mid Wilshire Los Angeles (Downtown adjacent) with super amazing views and Steps to the subway. Secured underground gated parking included.

This is a historic 1920s building located in LA's buzzing Koreatown district near mid wilshire, downtown and very central to everything Los Angeles. Across the street to Metro Purple Line subway, 7 minute train ride to Downtown LA (Rated best downtown in America in GQ Magazine January 2014), Hollywood, Silverlake, Los Feliz, Echo Park...and about 20 minute drive to Santa Monica beach.

Amenities include high speed wireless internet, elevator and gated entry with additional gated parking available. Our apartment features large private balcony and roof huge deck, ten large windows with views and lots of sunlight.
We have cable TV with many premium channels and DVR recorders, large 55" LED TV in living room with built in Netflix, 46" plasma tv in master bedroom, and smaller plasma tv in guest room. Master bedroom has queen temperpedic mattress while guest room has newer pilowtop/memory foam mattress. The kitchen is big and features new stainless fridge, new stove, formal dining room and more. There is coin-op laundry facilities in building. We have in bedroom AC but rarely use it.

The Neighborhood: There are so many great things about this neighborhood. Lots of coffee shops. Starbucks and Coffee Bean are around the corner. Tom and Toms and our favorite local coffee shop is Bourbon Street. Just some of the cool bars and tasty restaurants include Korean BBQ Soot Bull Jeep, one of the best KTown foodie spots, old Sinatra hangouts like Taylors Steakhouse and HMS Bounty, R Bar where the local hipsters like to hang and The Prince (great bar and amazing fried chicken Korean style). In addition to lots of great Korean and Mexican eats there is also pizza, Indian, Oaxacan, Peruvian, Thai, sushi, and much more including lots of fast food dining if you like most within a block away. There is also a grocery market one block away if you prefer to cook at home.
If you need to get in that daily workout, WilFit Sports Club is next door to our building and is brand new. Just opened this summer.

There is no smoking permitted in apartment or building. Smoking is permitted on outdoor deck. (Please see HOUSE RULES for more information).

Parking: Although we will provide one secure parking spot and garage will accommodate most sizes and types of passenger vehicle's, the entry and driveway is rather narrow and caution is advised when pulling into parking garage.

Keep in mind that although our apartment is updated with new appliances, fixtures etc, this building is nearly 100 years old and should not be compared to newer modern apartment complexes.

The apartment can accommodate up to 6 persons. We can make available a third queen bed, an Aerobed air mattress. however, the fee is $25 extra for each person after 4.

  • Staying at Mike & Meg's place was great. The apartment is in an older building, but it's well-maintained and has a great character to it. It's spacious, tastefully furnished and tidy, without any cruft. We felt right at home.

    I didn't get to meet Mike or Meg in person as they were traveling, but we chatted over the phone and texted to organize the details, and it was super smooth.

    Based on the posters and other "clues" in the apartment, they seem like very interesting folks and I hope to meet them the next time I'm in LA and staying at their place :)

  • This apartment is amazing! Mike and Meg were fantastic hosts. We didn't want to leave. It is in a great part of LA. Just minutes from everything, including a great bus line. The apartment also has a private garage if you are renting a car like we did. Mike and Meg were excellent communicators throughout the entire booking process and even made accommodations for us as we were flying from NYC to LA and our plane was delayed due to a snow storm. The apartment itself is beautiful and sprawling. Spotless. The bedrooms are gigantic. This was our 4th time using Airbnb and this apartment was without question, the nicest. We highly recommend this apartment to anyone thinking about it.

  • Staying at Mike and Meg's was wonderful. Amazing location! Very big place and clean accommodations. 4 of us stayed here (2 couples) and found it to be excellent in space as well. Good views. We highly recommend this place, and look forward t coming back again. Plus, we loved their cats.

  • The three of us stayed for nine days. This place was perfect and the pictures are true. As a traveler, here's what I care about most: location, a well stocked kitchen and a decent night's sleep. As for location, you're in Korea Town, central to everything in LA. It's an unbeatable location.

    The kitchen was new, large and fully equipped. The bathrooms looked to be recently remodeled. And, most important for me, the beds were better than the beds I have at home. We slept great here.

    This is a large apartment on the top floor of an older building, full of character and light, and if you want to be in the city center, it could well be the best lodging deal in LA.

  • The location worked perfectly for us - easy access to Santa Monica pier, Hollywood hotspots and universal studios. The apartment is spacious, well maintained, great views and very airy. Mike and Meg were easy to reach and answered all our questions. The parking spot is tight and a little tricky - but we had no trouble with our RAV4.

  • We loved this apartment, it's absolutely amazing and more beautiful & spacious than the photos. 100% thrilled with Mike & Meg's awesome service and ease with the property.

    They provided us with a fantastic place to stay at the end of a long working trip in California while we were in LA. We really appreciated all of the perfectly organized directions, the great kitchen and the take out menus with their personal reviews. That was super helpful. The beds and furniture were all in tip-top shape, clean and comfy. 2 bed, 2 bath, super perfect for a party of 2-4 people easily. What more can you ask for?

    Easy in & easy out with this property and you can't even believe the views from 7 floors up. Perfect perfect! We can't recommend them enough and will be back the next time that we are in LA.
