Located just outside of Portland - at the gateway to wine country. Rejuvenate your body and spirit. As Superhosts we care that your stay is seamless -for a weekend-getaway, honeymoon, or a work-at-home stay. A short walk to coffee shops, wine bar, breweries, restaurants and public transit. Gorgeous main suite with private bathroom, full kitchen, laundry, private yard. Ten minutes off I-5. Only 1.5 hrs from the coast or Mt. Hood.

The ‘Saltbox’ is a perfect place to reset, rejuvenate and to take an Epsom-salt soak in the claw foot tub before exploring wine country or to set up a work-at-home stay. The name is derived from an economical style of architecture with the slanted roof addition onto a two-story home (back in the day such homes were taxed less because the one-story wasn’t considered actual living space). For us -the one story additional is your entry point to the private backyard flower and herb garden. Dependable Wi-Fi, desk workspace, private area for work separate from common spaces. A two-minute walk for a morning coffee, or evening cocktail. Our guidebook highlights our favorite spots including the Smockville Brewery, 503 Uncorked Wine Bar, Mason`Vecchio Ristorante Mondo or our favorite Irish Pub-Clancy’s. The Saltbox is located on a paved trail system that winds for many miles through cedar woods and wetlands and is only a short drive to the Tualatin National Wildlife Refuge in Sherwood. In addition our guidebook will tell you about local soak spots, natural hot springs, waterfalls to explore and our favorite ‘The Meadow’ salt and chocolate themed store in Portland. At the Saltbox we know the value of salt – centerfold to human civilization and key to a beautiful experience here on Earth. We provide a variety of bath salts, and in the kitchen, flavored salts for your use and experimentation.

Two additional bedrooms are available for rent for an additional upon request. The additional charge of $50/per room will be added. Perfect for larger groups or wedding parties.
