Valerie was kind enough to wait for us at her apartment despite the slight communication issue which was just a matter of fortune.
I slept well at the apartment even given the many guests who freely roamed the living room, which me and my friend occupied. The air mattress was great. The guests were kind and respectful.
The cat at the apartment was really a pleasure and soothed the experience of those 2 days.
Valerie was very open to share her working and live experience with me on the day of our departure, which was a nice closing twist to the stay at her apartment.
Valerie's apartment is situated in a building which draws attention to itself, I really liked it.
I am grateful to Valerie for hosting us at a very busy and onerous time of the year.
I stayed at Taffee place for almost a month. At the beginning I stayed on this extra haute airmattress in the living room as it was planned because it was the cheapest for me. I would say that staying there for a month could be a pain (depends what kind of comfort you are looking for). Because you will have no intimacy (the living room is on the passage to the toilet/bathroom and the kitchen) only an airmattress and not really space to tidy your things up. From then on, the airmattress might be a good one for a short stay.
But! After about two weeks, Valerie had work obligations and had to leave the appartment so she proposed me to stay in her room for the same initial conditions which was very nice from her and I'm gratefull about that. Otherwise Valerie is a warm welcoming host and will give you nice advices about what's hot or where to go in the city.
Altogether I had a great time in NY!
I staid in her livingroom for three nights, as she said, it is a good option for low budget travel, specially when all you need is a place to sleep in the nights, it can be a noisy place (but not more than every ones livingroom!)
she is really friendly and easy going!
friendly host, nice place, nice people, nice area! had lots of fun in NY and felt at home at Valerie's place!
Muy buena anfitriona!! El departamento es muy lindo!! recomendable!
she is such a lovely person
Valerie was very helpful as we needed accommodation on very short notice due to Hurricane Irene. My partner and I stayed with her for two nights and had a lovely time. She offered us a home-cooked meal with her housemate as well as free wine and we had a great evening. The price she offered us was very economical at such short notice too. Thanks for your help!
Valerie was very courteous and nice. She accommodated us for a single night on short notice, so we really appreciate her help. If you're opting for the "very high air mattress," I should warn you that there's not much privacy, it being in the living room. Valerie will also talk your ear off. That said, we kept cool in the summer heat and slept well.
Valerie hosted a friend of mine at VERY short notice. Was extremely accommodating and generous with her space and time. Would repeat in a heartbeat - thank you!!
Valerie made it all easy and was very respectful of my space, her other rooms were full but she had it all covered with an air mattress for me.
Very nice people!
