Beautiful large light and airy room with dual aspect sea and coastal views over the Jurassic coast. A king sized bed with down duvet and quality bedding and original shutters on the windows to block out the morning sun should help ensure a good nights sleep.
The ensuite is spacious and comprises an electric shower, loo and basin and if you fancy it you can have a shower whilst looking out at the sea view.
The room has a lounging area with sofa bed.
Facilities in the room include a TV and kettle with tea and coffee.
A full english, aga-cooked breakfast is served in the dining room which opens out on to a veranda where you can also have breakfast or sit and relax in good weather. We believe in eating well as a family so produce is local and organic where possible and bread is mainly home made.
Dorset House, our family home, is a large Regency residence which sits at the top of the main road through Lyme Regis so is within easy reach of the restaurants, shops and the beaches.
Like many places in Lyme Regis, we don't have parking on site but the Holmbush car park is very close by with reasonable rates and we have an area where you can pull in to drop off luggage etc. If you are visiting the area by public transport, the nearest mainline train station is at Axminster which is about 4 miles away - either a short taxi ride or local bus (ask to get off at the Mariners Inn)
We have three kids from ages 4 to 12 and love having a house full of visitors - you will be made to feel very welcome and we'd love you to feel as relaxed as you would in your own home but without the cooking and washing up!
Please note that one of the nearby pubs has live music on a saturday night which on a warm night when everyone has the windows and doors open can be heard.
Such a great place for a last minute weekend away. Really friendly hosts and a stunning view of the sunrise out the window to wake up to before tucking into a nice hearty breakfast. We also enjoyed walking parts of the Jurassic Coast which was a short walk away.
Lyn and Jason's place is great. It is a grand house which Lyn and Jason are bringing back to its firmer glory. It is well situated on the hill as you enter the main part of the town of Lyme Regis. Our room had spectacular views of the sea and bay and is within easy walking distance of the center of town and the beach. Lyn and Jason were open and friendly hosts and we felt a real part if their family. Breakfast was great and we felt their bnb was a great experience and great value.
Beautiful room and helpful and friendly hosts without them being in your face. Realised that we are prudes when it comes to having a bathroom that you can't close the door on. Bit expensive perhaps.
As our first night in the UK, the accommodation at Dorset House warm, welcoming and comfortable. The room was just as it is pictured. Lyn is a welcoming host and was very patient with our changing arrival times for which we were very grateful. Breakfast was a highlight with scrumptious summer fruits, home made granola & a hearty cooked breakfast if desired. We would love to return to this beautiful part of the world one day and would stay again at Dorset House..
We're still trying to make our own granola that tastes half as good as Lyn's, but so far we're not even close! The breakfasts were a great testament to Lyn's passion for good cuisine and set us up for the entire day - whether walking along the clifftops to Charmouth or playing guitar with 2000 others on the beach at Lyme!
The room is delightful, light and airy with spectacular views both to the south across the sea, and to the west along the coast and the morning sun. And the bed, with fresh cotton sheets, was possibly the most comfortable I've ever slept in.
Lyn and Jason, and their three wonderful kids, have found the perfect spot in Lyme Regis - just a 5 minute walk down to the sea and the bustle of the town and shops, and yet quietly located in its own, high-ceilinged period splendour. (Ask her to show you the illustration of the house in Beatrix Potter's 'Pig Robinson' - and you'll see that it hasn't changed a bit since the turn of the century.)
This has to be the perfect place to stay in Lyme Regis!
Très beau séjour ancienne maison très bien maintenue ressemble a un Spa/ déjeuner délicieux/ bien situe.

What a great find - and every bit as good as it looks in the pictures! Lyn and Jason were extremely friendly and welcoming. They even brought the family out to hear the singing, which was very kind and much appreciated. Hope to be back again before too long.
Lovely place with salacious bedroom. Lovely walk to the beach, lovely breakfast, I thoroughly enjoyed my weekends there :)
We spent a lovely time in Dorset house with Lyn, Jason and their family.
The room was lovely with beautiful seaviews, breakfast was delicious and we should love to come back some time.

Lyn and Jason with the rest of the beatiful family were really nice, welcoming and warm towards us.
We got great tips and quality reccomandation about the best excursions and restaurants of the area not "so" turistic and ideal for us.
The room and Dorset house itself are very nice and the view on the ocean from the room is great, it makes more acceptable also the raining days. In fact the room is very lively and full of light. The bed is very confortable as well. Breakfast is healthy and very good.
We reccomend Lyn and Jason and their house. With no doubt.
