We stayed just one night at Marguerite's, but were made to feel instantly at home. Though we arrived late, we were free to use the kitchen, and our host was extremely efficient in explaining the necessary details. Wifi much appeciated too! Thanks Marguerite.
Unfortunately Marguerite was not here to host us but her parents were : there were adorable and very welcoming. It was very easy to find her house thanks to her advices. Would recommend ! Anne
After a fairly comical experience with the directions (lefts and rights got confused, which led me to a house where a key had also been left with a neighbor and I let myself in much to this unsuspecting woman's surprise...) I had a really nice stay at Marguerite's. It was clean and comfortable, and the beach in Youghal is lovely for the stroll. The Chinese restaurant in town was terrible, but that's hardly Marguerite's fault. Got to have a nice chat with Marguerite at night, and had a lovely stay.
This is described as a hostel, but it is the standard of a B & B.
OK - your host might not be there (out at work) and you fix your own breakfast - but a fabulous house and location - for heaps less than a B & B ..... and you get to use the kitchen to fix / heat up an evening meal !
I was working - so arrived and left in darkness ......
But it is obviously really near the seaside .... best with a car as it is a little way out of town ( just after where the street lights end ...)
I was going to get the satnav co-ordinates .... to put in here .... but I didn't ..... Like so many places in Ireland .... a little hard to find - but Marguerite kept in phone contact with me, ... I found it ... in the dark and heavy rain !!
Enjoyable evening chatting with Marguerite, her sister and partner. A lovely evening. Just wish I had longer to stay & explore the area !!
I will definitely be back - when I am next in that part of Ireland !
Hopefully for longer next time - so I can explore the historic town of Youghal.
I had a wonderful, cozy stay here at Marguerite's place. The house was very spacious, clean and comfortable and Marguerite epitomises superb Irish hospitality.
