Enjoy your stay in this lovely spacious studio with original hardwood floors. Wake up to natural sunlight with the beautiful oversized windows, and walk down to 3rd and Chestnut for delicious brunch at "FARMiCiA." Located in the heart of the town, experience the culture of Philadelphia's infamous "Old City". There won't be a dull moment with the convenience of restaurants, clubs, boutiques, and historical sites all within walking distance. Public transportation is only a block away!
The studio can comfortably accommodate 1-4 people. There is a full size bed, in addition to a pull-out couch (full-size). There is a decent sized kitchen with everything you need! Feel free to make yourself at home and take advantage of the wifi and washer and dryer.
Christina was really helpful and available, considering how last minute I was in trying to get a place she made me feel well prepared. The space smelled great and the bed is sooo comfy!
The apartment was clean, large, and comfy. It was in a great location, within walking distance of amazing restaurants and interesting historical sites. Cristina was very responsive and friendly.
The apartment is on a very busy street, so we suggest an eye mask and earplugs for sleeping. On our last night, the nightclub across the street had people in an out until 2am and it was hard to sleep.
Overall we had a great time and we highly recommend it! Great area for a great price!
I had a great time at Cristina's! She was amazing at communicating with me, told me exact details of where her place was and how to get in, it was super easy. Her place was so cute and exactly what the pictures look like, and smelled like cinnamon when I walked in :) I stayed here for Valentine's day and had a blast. It's in such a prime location and only need to walk a block to get a cab. Some people wrote that it was cold but I had no problem with the temperature.
Cristina's apartment is lovely! It is bright, clean, comfortable and in an incredible location. This is exactly what we were looking for and Cristina was very kind and communicative.
One thing to be aware of is that there is not much in the kitchen so if you want to cook a lot, this might not be the best spot for you.
Finally, other reviewers have commented on the noise; the apartment is on a busy street so earplugs would be very useful, however we didn't have them and the noise did not last too late so we slept well! Also the bed is very comfortable.
I had a great stay at Cristina's. Awesome location, we walked to everything and there was plenty of restaurants, bars, sights and friendly people footsteps away. The apartment was clean and beautiful and we felt right at home. The privacy of the studio was also pretty amazing.
Cristina's appartement was very clean and warm. Versus easy to reach. Will definitely recommend for a trip in Philly
Cristina was a great host-- she was easy to get in touch with, the place was clean, and located wonderfully! Anyone who wants to stay in a cute, sunny little place in the heart of bustling old city should stay here!
First of all Cristina gets high marks in terms of communication and being welcoming. Although I never met her in person, she was always easy to reach and very responsive. Her place is very cute, and centrally located -- a VERY short walk to the 2nd Street subway stop, and right in the historic heart of Philadelphia. Her directions were clear and concise. I appreciate how welcoming and open she is.
Now for the bad. Her apartment, which features beautiful almost floor to ceiling windows was FREEZING during my stay when the temperatures ranged between 7 and 20 F. She had asked that I turn the temperature down and being from California I set the thermostat to 50. When I came back it took forever for it to warm back up again (like another day). Even when the thermostat said 67, it was super drafty and I was chilly. On Friday night, there were revelers out in the street whooping and hollering -- I could hear them through my earplugs. They must have been very hardy souls, with strong lungs because it was very, very cold outside. On the plus side, if you are looking to party, there's a fun bar close by. No bagpipes for me.
Finally, the apartment is rather spare. I didn't mind except there was no reading lamp by the bed and no hairdryer -- I've never stayed at an AirBnB where there is no hairdryer but in the future I will ask -- I did let Cristina know that a reading lamp would be a good addition. As a side note, I had to cancel two full days of my stay because of a flight cancellation due to weather (but I didn't cancel and rebook, which is perhaps what I should have done). With AirBnB there is not policy due to a change in the reservation and I'll pursue that separately.
Christina was very communicative - we had no trouble getting in. The apartment was in a great neighborhood with tons of restaurants, cafés, and bars all of walking distance. Historic landmarks were nearby too. Bed was very comfy!
We do not recommend Cristina's place. Although she was responsive to our questions and communicative, and her instructions re: keys, etc. were very clear, we found the place noisy, drafty (in 25 degree weather, this was a concern), the mattress saggy, and were surprised to find - although we hadn't asked, just expected - no TV. It was sparsely furnished, no reading lights, no empty dresser drawers to put our clothes in, and overall just uncomfortable. The outer walls are uninsulated so no matter how high the heat was, the place didn't warm up. Also, we only had a fleece blanket and a thin summer quilt and were cold most of the time night on both nights we stayed. While the cost was low, it wasn't low enough for the conditions we suffered. Also, although other users found the place very clean, we didn't, especially the bathroom.
Finally drunken revelers outside on the street, all night long, were clearly heard, and our experience was capped with a bagpipe parade at 9 am on Saturday. A street light shining right into the sleeping area increased the bad-night experience.
