The Exchange Building, completed in 1910 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places, was refitted in 1996 to house 202 attractive efficiencies, one and two bedroom apartments, penthouses, and handicap equipped units. While the building has undergone a series of renovations, every effort has been made to preserve its historic features, such as the original mosaic tiles, an early-1900’s era Tennessee marble staircase, the elaborate plasterwork, and the granite surfaces. The towering marble ceilings of the lobby exude the elegance of downtown living.
Located in the heart of the Downtown Neighborhood – near the nightlife, restaurants, and shopping – our apartments are the ideal home base for exploring the city. Living in a 19-story skyscraper allows a breathtaking view of the Mississippi River. Walk outside and explore the rich, dense neighborhood. Fine dining is offered within blocks at renowned restaurants such as Rendezvous!, The Majestic Grille, or Flights. Enjoy a pint at the neighborhood Irish pub, The Brass Door, or make the three-minute drive to Beale Street and relish in its famous bars such as Silky O’Sullivans, Alfred’s, or Bardog Tavern. You could also take the trolley to Beale St, to the Pyramid, or around the downtown area, since there is a trolley stop a block away.
The apartments provide a homey feel with a luxurious touch and high-quality amenities. Several of the units located on the higher floors provide our residents a spectacular view. Units come with a full kitchen, with refrigerator, dishwasher, & oven/stove. The Management office on the first floor is ready to assist you during business hours, and, as many of my residents already know, I am always just a phone call away. A laundry room with coin-operated machines and a gym on the top floor are easily accessible through the three elevators. Apartment 409 is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom unit. It features a modern bathroom and a great view of the neighboring Court Square Park.
There are public metered spots all around the building. Since parking is not always available, we provide parking passes for a nearby parking garage (1 block away) at the price of $10/day or a more affordable monthly rate. Note that these prices are non-negotiable since the garage is operated by a separate business.
Situated at an unbeatable location with competitive pricing, our apartments are a click away from becoming your future home or weekend getaway. Let yourself be inspired by the view and invigorated by the bustling and lively neighborhood. Rest up in our comfortable abodes and make sure to spend enough time exploring the giant playground that is the City of Memphis. Stayed for 1 night and got exactly what I expected, empty apartment with an airbed. For the price, you can't beat this location. I would definitely stay here if I pass through Memphis again. Also, checking in and out was very easy.
The apartment was exactly what I was expecting. Great location, clean, and Sardor and Charlie were very prompt and helpful. Would recommend Sardor's places to anyone looking for a budget option downtown.
Always a pleasure. Lovely people and a great view. Comfortable bed. Will be back!
Sardor place is very well located, close to Beale St and walking distance to downtown and river side. He was very easy to communicate and solve all our queries (sheets, pillows with no extra charge). Regarding the apt I would rather go to a wooden floor one, the carpet is old and not very nice to sleep over (since you are very close to the floor with the air matress). The rest is as said in the explanation, there is a fridge but nothing else (no kitchen stuff, no microwave...). I guess is a fair price to pay to be in the center of Memphis! Worth it to spend a couple of nights.
Bring sheets, towel & shower curtain. Big apartment. Quiet. Heater. Wifi in lobby. Sardor was very kind, happy & helpful! Good location! Air mattress, pillow & blanket provided. I'd stay here again, thanks Sardor!
It was exactly as described. A room with an air mattress. Bathroom and kitchen. But so close to the centre of town! Beale St was just a 7-8 minute walk away. And for what I was paying, was definitely worth it. Check in was nice and easy, and the apartment complex felt very safe.
Sardor and Charlie were helpful and gracious hosts. Would stay at that place anytime. Clean, conveniently located with beautiful view.
Exactly as advertised. The best bargain! Be aware that there are zero amenities but it is perfect if touring the town and you only need to bath and sleep. Bring linens & towels & a coffee pot if that is a have to have. The building is secure. Weekend parking was ok. Charlie was available to meet me (email hidden) on Friday night. I will book again when back in Memphis which I hope is soon. Great city!
Perfect location. Right in downtown. Sardor was super friendly. The apartment is absolutely bare, but as a cheap traveller all we needed was a bed (an air bed was supplied) and a bathroom/shower. For that price you can't complain.
If I were to return to Memphis I would stay here again.
Completely unfurnished (as per description), however it does come with wifi, a stove, a fridge and an air mattress (optional). Perfect for us as we were road-tripping across the USA and had all our own utensils etc.
Great location too, free parking out front on the weekends (if you can find a spot) otherwise parking garage down the street had fairly reasonable prices. Aircon in lounge room too but not in the bedroom (which can get a bit hot in summer), however we just set the air-mattress up in the lounge. Would definitely recommend if you're ok with it being unfurnished
