Surfer Oasis in Central Waikiki

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Nohonani Street, Honolulu, HI 96815, United States

Our quiet one bedroom apartment is centrally located, two blocks from the beach and surrounded by restaurants and shopping. Can sleep up to 4 guests, with private bath, lanai, and fully stocked kitchen. Enjoy a private oasis in the heart of Waikiki- perfect for surfers!

The Space

This apartment is a great private and relaxing space nestled in the center of Waikiki. We chose this location due to its convenience but while maintaining an air of total calm. The unit is a back corner unit, which is the best in the building due to its privacy and air flow. It is usually very quiet, compared to the rest of Waikiki, but there may still be ambient street noise on occasion. We've set up the property to have all the essentials we love to enjoy when we're staying, such as surfboard and bikes so you can make the most of your visit. The bedroom is designed with a king bed, but we can place 2 twins in place. The living room contains a futon that 2 people can share. It's ideal for the solo traveler, a couple, 2 friends, or a small family!

Guest Access

There is a flat screen TV, cable, and a DVD player on the premises, we have surf movies in the apartment for your enjoyment. There is a 9' longboard available for your use, in addition to 2 bicycles for getting around town. There is a hair dryer and basic amenities (body wash, lotion) for your use, and the kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, utensils, and dinnerware. The apartment also boasts a spacious lanai (balcony) where you can enjoy the sunshine and breeze. The building has a nice BBQ grill that is shared. There is a coin-op laundry room as well, along with a book sharing area. The pool and courtyard may be used by guests any time during the open hours, but not late at night.

Interaction with Guests

We are available via phone, text, or email with any questions or concerns for our guests, but will not disturb you otherwise. There is a front desk manager who is available to answer questions. As part of our sister company, Surf N Sol, we are able to offer unique packaged vacations for our guests!

The Neighborhood

Everything in Waikiki is conveniently accessible by foot, whether its the beach, great waves, fine dining, entertainment, or shopping. There's a wide variety of options to explore, or you can also chill and enjoy your private apartment. You can also take a short bike ride to the park and explore other beaches.

Getting around

We offer 2 bikes for our guests to travel around Waikiki. There are also many buses that can take you to the airport, Pearl Harbor, Hanauma Bay, Ala Moana Shopping Center, or anywhere else in town. The bus is $2.50 per ride and operates frequently. We recommend taking an airport shuttle to/from Waikiki for $13 each way, or $25 RT if booked in advance. We can provide phone numbers and web links to help!

Other Things to Note

We are able to arrange surf lessons, board rental, and other activities, or point you in the right direction! We've lived and worked in Waikiki, so ask any questions you have and we'll be happy to answer them.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • This is a great apartment to stay! Clean, bright and in a great location.
The city centre and famous Waikiki Beach are only 2 minutes away (2-3 blocks away) and you can go almost everywhere by foot.

The neighborhood is quiet. Even if you are sitting outside on the lovely balcony, it is quite silent.
In the street of the apartment there is a little grocery store and just around the corner you can find plenty of restaurants, pharmacy etc.
Right next to the apartment you can sit in the "house-bar" and enjoy some drinks while having a chat with the locals.

Christine really want you to have a pleasant stay! She prepared a file about the apartment rules, trash, where to eat…
If you have questions, you can text her and she will answer really quickly.

It was a pleasure to stay in this awesome apartment!
We enjoyed Waikiki a lot (thanks to Christine)! :-)

Thanks Celine, we loved hosting you! Come and visit again! :)

  • Great location! We had fun riding bikes around town. Thanks Christine!

  • My daughter and I stayed in Christine 's well positioned apartment for 3 weeks.
Our directions and initial correspondence with Christine was effective and orderly.
Christines apartment is not as fresh as I would of expected…Furniture is a little tired. Carpets are a little dirty and I suggest they be removed for a cleaner option.
The bikes are a Huge advantage as is the surf board. I will happily return to this apartment.

  • Stayed here for 3 nights and didnt want to leave, like having a home from home with everything you need and more! The apartment is very spacious and comfortable, and is on the doorstep of central Waikiki meaning we could be at the beach, shops, restaurants etc within 5 minutes. There is a great community spirit in the complex and everybody is very helpful. Unfortunately we didnt have time but you can also book out a grill near the pool to use at dinner time, would have been a major plus! We used the bikes to cycle to Hanauma bay which we were very thankful for otherwise we would have had to use an expensive tour operator. Next time we come, we are using the surfboard too! Christine was very helpful with our check-in after we arrived early, and quick to respond to all of our questions. When we come back to Waikiki, we will definitely look at staying here again! Mahalo

  • Very nice little space. Bikes and board were great. Kitchen was a plus. Highly recommend.

  • Surprisingly spacious with an amazing central location - you really can't go wrong with this apartment. The interior pool-side patio was filled with friendly locals and visitors who were always game for a chat or game of cards.

In short a Waikiki score if you want a temporarily home with more character than a hotel with anonymous air conditioned halls.

Thanks for staying, Elijah! Come and visit again :)

  • Great place in the heart of Waikiki. I spent two nights and in all honestly, I used it mostly for a place to sleep and shower, which was perfect.

Comfortable place, bit of a walk to the beach but again, in the heart of Waikiki so a lot of things walkable in all directions.

Only small issue was the parking situation, very difficult, which I expected. You don't need a car to stay here, but I needed it to travel to the second portion of my trip. I ended up parking it at one of the hotels, which all have obscene hourly rates, however "losing my ticket" allowed me to keep it in the lot for two nights for 30 bucks.

    Highly recommended for Town accommodations.

    Thanks for visiting, Michael!

  • We spent a week at Christine's place in the Hawaiian King and loved the hell out of it. It was as comfortable as we could have hoped for and close to Waikiki Beach. It's also a short walk to good restaurants (which the provided apartment guide helpfully points out) and a grocery store. The building itself is quiet and secure. Our sole gripe, and it's a minor one at that, is the Hawaiian King's wi-fi extends but a few feet into the apartment. We look forward to coming back!

    Response from Christine:

Thanks, Brennan! I'm glad you had a good stay! I'll definitely look into trying to find something that will strengthen the wifi connection! Aloha!

  • I had never been to Hawaii before so Christine and her place were perfect! Right in the heart of the action, 2 blocks away from the most beautiful beach & fab shops.
She had thought of everything. A very useful apartment guide with all of the info necessary was emailed to me before the fact. Prompt, cheerful responses to all of my inquiries and so helpful!
There is a sweet pool, a laundry, the surfboard, the bikes! The full kitchen was great for building breakfasts as required or late night snacks.
Shockingly in this day and age, I didn't have a laptop or an iPad, but the Wifi was on offer..
I was in Hawaii for a large gathering and birthday party. Most of my travelling companions were staying at hotels, which were all within easy walking distance, as were so many eateries and of course the beach! (& Duke's on Waikiki). Ross was an unexpected delight ; )
I didn't spend a massive amount of time in the room because as I say, I was there for a large gathering of 32 people, but it was great to be able to zip back and drop stuff off at the apartment, then zip out again to meet friends etc...
I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. It was a positive experience all round.
I didn't meet Christine in person, but her communication was excellent, friendly, thoughtful, and most helpful in every case. She had thought of everything, and even organised me with time differences as I had to cross the date line to get to Hawaii, and had forgotten to factor that in to my departure date! Luckily I didn;t have to sleep on Waikiki on my last night ; )
Thanks Christine, I had a great trip and enjoyed myself immensely even though I left most of my money in Honolulu!!
Cheers and mahalo. (Kiaora from New Zealand)

So glad you had a good trip! Hope you'll come visit Hawaii again sometime! :)

  • Christine was extremely detailed, and made our first AirBnB experience an enjoyable one! My wife and I stayed here for 4 days at the tail end of our honeymoon. The value that you get for what you pay for was definitely worth the money.
The location was ideal!! It was a short walk from the larger resorts/ shopping, restaurants (Marukame Udon, Iyasume Masubi, Dukes, etc.), and most importantly the beach! I opted to rent a longboard from Moku Board Shop since they included GoPro Mounts for my GoPro. I would have used the surfboard provided if time/weather allowed. A nice touch was the swiveling flat panel tv that allowed you to watch from the living room area or the bed. I would fall asleep watching surf movies (she had there) to get me pumped for dawn patrol surf session the next morning. We definitely took full advantage of the 2 fixie bikes. We rode them to Diamond Head Trail Head, Rainbow Drive In, Khomotori Japanese Restaurant, and Leonard's Bakery. It was nice that Christine included U-Locks to lock the bikes.
There is a nice wrap around balcony, it was helpful when I would hang my wet board shorts and rash guard.
Christine was very pleasant, prompt, and responsive to our questions and helped us have a smooth and enjoyable trip!
