The space

This is a spacious, comfortable flat in Carroll Gardens, the heart of brownstone Brooklyn-- in other words, that cute neighborhood you see in films and TV shows when they want to show the cozy, charming side of NYC life. I'm on a beautiful tree-lined street where birds will welcome your stay with a song as you sip your morning coffee or tea. My flat is on the top floor, with lots of natural light.

The neighborhood of Carroll Gardens is simply adorable. It's not surprising to walk down the street and hear Italian being spoken, and then turn the corner and overhear a French conversation.

Everybody loves this location; it’s a clean, safe, convenient and reliable place for you to stay on your visit to the city.

There are two trains just 4 blocks away; the G and the F, and I'm only 15/20 minutes from the city.

-Half of the top floor of a small four-story building
-Peaceful bedroom with a queen-size memory foam bed
-Huge, sunny living room with a large sofa (I'm 5'9 and have slept comfortably on the sofa)
-One bathroom with shower and claw-foot bath-tub
-Fresh sheets, blankets and towels for every visit
-A large, fully-equipped kitchen where my guests are invited to make coffee or tea, and use my various oils and spices that are on the kitchen shelves. Guest can cook easily without having to purchase all the basics.

-There are three (normal) flights of stairs leading to the apartment-- no elevator.
- Many of my reviews mention my sweet kitty, Ethie, who passed away. There's no animals that cohabitate during guests stay.
-The building itself is old and the floors have a little bit of a creak, maybe you will find it charming but if you're looking for an ultra-modern recently-renovated condo then this is not the place for you.
-Carroll Gardens has some amazing places to eat/drink/shop. I suggest Buttermilk Channel, Prime Meats and Frankies 451 for great meals. Abilene, Mini Bar and Brooklyn Social for drinks. Caputo's (specialty shop with amazing Italian foods), Gourmet Fresh (for groceries), and for the rest I have a bodega just one block away!
-This is my home, so tell me a bit about yourself so I can know who I'm renting to, and what I can do to make you feel welcome.

Although Niabi wasn't there she did check in to just make sure everything was going fine. Her Apartment is beautiful and the bed was AMAZING! The neighborhood is really nice and less busy so highly recommended and super easy to hop on the subway to get anywhere.

I didn't meet Niabi but she was quick to respond to text messages and gave helpful information about happenings in Brooklyn. The neighborhood is great, feels safe, and is a haven amongst the bustle of NY. Comfy apartment with beautiful plants and artisan furniture. We felt at home and enjoyed our experience

Niabi was an excellent host! She had everything ready for us when we arrived, and we loved everything about her quaint apartment. It was as if we lived there in an alternative universe, we felt so at home.

I really enjoyed my stay at Niabi's lovely Carroll Gardens apartment. While I wasn't able to meet Niabi during my stay she was a very accommodating and responsive host. Everything I needed to know was provided in advance and even though I'm a former New Yorker, the binder with local recommendations came in really handy. The apartment is as pictured and has a lot of character. The neighborhood is quiet, which is a nice break from the crowded and busy streets of Manhattan. Nonetheless, getting in and out of the city is easy. I was in NY to attend the US Open and had no problem getting into the city and around on the F. I would definitely stay again and have already recommended it to friends.

The apartment is good value given the expensive hotels in NY. It is located in a great neighbourhood with some great options for eating out (highly recommend Buttermilk Channel). The subway station is not too far away and we felt relatively safe walking back to the apartment at night. The apartment has a very comfortable bed and all the basic facilities you would need for stay.

Niabi's apartment was beautiful, clean and quiet. We slept so soundly after noisy manhattan! Carroll Gardens is a lovely, leafy part of Brooklyn, close to excellent food (we recommend the pizza at Lucali's (booking required) and the French toast bagels at Brooklyn Breads). The apartment is close (about four blocks) to the subway and also a laundromat, pharmacy, corner store etc.

I visited Brooklyn recently for my sister's wedding and didn't want the standard expensive hotel experience. I feel so lucky to have found Niabi's flat in Carroll Gardens. The neighborhood is really nice. Her apartment is clean and comfortable. Indeed, an "oasis to rest and refresh" (as another reviewer said) after a long day. Niabi is super nice and her amazing cat Ethie will make you feel at home.
