Here is our "Old School House Meenacross" dating back to 1920, the house has downstairs a large kitchen and a living room with fireplace. The floors are the original wood floors from the former school. Upstairs thera are 3 double bedrooms and one bathroom with shower. Hiking, fishing, cooking, reading, sleeping ... given the spectacular, wild landscape of the Irish coast. There is no place in the world in which we can recover better from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The house is owned by 3 people who all live in Switzerland. It is in our possession for more than 20 years.

It is an old, special house. Please take care and behave like at home :-)
Laetitia communicated very well with us and left plenty of information about the local area in the house for browsing. We had no trouble with anything and really enjoyed our stay, in spite of the mostly bad weather.
The house is neatly designed and makes good use of the space available, with a large kitchen and living area with an open fire place on the ground floor: exactly what we wanted.
We enjoyed the remoteness and peace of the valley, and the adjacent hills are ideal walking areas with trout lakes at high level on both sides of the valley. The bicycles on offer were enjoyed as well. Another stay is being planned!
Laetitia'shouse is absolutely stunning located in what is perhaps the most beautiful scenery in the whole west coast of Ireland. And we drove the ca. 2000 km wild Atlantic way... The house itself is old and full of charm and has ample place for a family. The views directly from the house are amazing.
We set out to Gleann Cholm Cille with the idea of a quiet, peaceful holiday before our baby arrives, and that's exactly what we experienced in Leatitia's old school cottage in Mín na Cross. The location in South West Donegal is stunning and the accommodation is perfect for a couple's retreat: no phone, no internet (though it took some time to adjust to the different information patterns!), a cosy sitting room with a majestic fire place, mountains and sheep all around us. The facilities were very good, a very well stocked kitchen, clear instructions from the host on how to use everything, and an architecturally interesting building dating back to pre-independence times. The locality is brilliant to say the least: driving through gorgeous valleys, mountains, windy bog roads, hidden beaches and there's lots of history embedded in the place from the Stone Age times. We absolutely loved our stay there and would thoroughly recommend it. Just make sure you have a car, plenty of fuel, and good maps (some were provided in the cottage)!

Really lovely house. Quiet and peaceful, just what we were looking for. The communication was clear and helpful. The host provided great advice about the local area. We would definitely stay here again. Many thanks.
It's an old house in rural Donegal, which is just what I wanted for my family to experience. It was a bit cold the first night we stayed there, but it our three nights there were a great way to experience this area of Donegal. It's a 10 minute drive to Glencolumbkille, which is absolutely gorgeous.
We spent 2 days in this charming little cottage in Donegal. It was quite a bit removed from the village of Glencolumkille but if you don't mind remote I would certainly recommend it. The house was cosy and clean on arrival with a lovely note from Monica, a bar of Swiss chocolate and a fresh bunch of daffodils in the vase on the kitchen table. The fire was set and there was plenty of turf, coal and kindling left inside for us. A great welcome. Oil heating via a Stanley range in the kitchen which you also cook on. 3 twin rooms - no doubles in case that matters to you. No TV, wifi or phone coverage! But lots of books and games to keep you amused. Kitchen is very well equipped with pots, pans and cooking tools - better than any rental I have stayed in before. If you do stay here take the time to go to Port - a long and very windy (sometimes scary) road to the most amazing seascape I have seen in a long time. While we are not particularly outdoorsy this house is an ideal base camp for hikers, bikers and fresh air enthusiasts.
Seele baumeln lassen
