Groan's boat is a classic sailboat that has been well maintained. It has all of the amenities listed in the description. Like any sailboat, it's important to keep close tabs on your provisions, especially water and fuel. Ethanol for the cooking stove was provided, but you must pr…

Goran was so WONDERFUL! He is such a nice guy and truly wants to help you out with your trip in any way that he can. He was very prompt in his communication prior to our trip and met us right at the port in Split for our sailing trip around many of the islands surrounding Split. …

Chelsea, probably you back in U.S till now. Glad to see your feedback... About shower, the boat has 2 in fact :-)) One in bow toilet, and one outside shower (hidden on the stern on the deck). But as at the ports, you get included shower into the mooring price than happen that people don't use the shower on the boat often or overlook ask his existence :-)) as was the case with us here. Thank you too so very much for our interesting companionship. We'll be in touch if need any in future.

Overall we enjoyed the time on Goran's sailboat and found it relaxing. We told Goran ahead of time that we were interested in snorkeling and he went to the trouble of arranging to pick-up the gear on Brac Island at a dive shop as we made our way to a quiet bay on the other side o…

Hi Cathleen, I felt that we have a perfect time anyway. But some of your expectations are not so real based on generally expected real-life facts. I will explain more detailed below. As an example: Especially Middle Dalmatia area around the Split is counted as best for yacht charter navigation because islands are so close! Visiting "one island per day" and have still time to do any other activities in the yacht sailboat charter is counted as radically good. If the area has larger distances between islands, it is counted as down side of that area because you must just sail a full day or more from one island to another. Split have set of 4 islands (Brac, Solta, Hvar, and Vis) in such close distance that you can sail from one to another and still have time to do some other activities except navigation over sea only. As an example: All other places in the Adriatic Sea have larger distances between islands! Because all that people usually go with sailboat vacations minimum 3 days. If you check on my AirBnB ratings, you can see that average is 3-days that people rent a boat. Thinking that downside was that the distance needed to travel to the bay put us near the end of the day is just not correct. It was the closest location that exists for snorkeling and that have protected bay at the same place. Because that I am select that Lucice bay for you that we can save the time. When I see here that you think about sailboat speed as some of the downsides and as you expect so faster ride, I start believing that you must rent speedboat for your similar vacation plans in future. Sailboats go 6 knots speed usually. To fulfill your plans in future by a one-day trip you must go on the speed-boat way in that case! These boats go 20-30 knots per hour, and you will lot faster make one-day trips. About sailing element too, I must note that it seems you just don't have sailing experience in past :-). We have fully calm and great sunny day weather at your one-day trip. It was between 0 till 4 knots wind whole speed day (and mostly zero knots in fact). You can't sail if you don't have 8 knots of wind minimally! You can't just make sail up, and that sailboat goes.... it doesn't go like that. You must have minimal wind and win must be in the proper direction. Be sure, I love sailing, and I am the first one who will make sails up :-) For me is little down side that we significantly communicate and a lot talk on the boat. Thinking that we so lot chat and that you don't ask me more about that what is important to you on the board is somehow strange. I am usually a more open person; just I am more say what I think than you it seems, but anyway that you asked me, I will explain to you that it is totally calm day, and we can't sail as no existing enough wind. What you say "experienced sailors willing to participate" it is true. We are talking about real-life sailing in stronger weather conditions. When we speak of that, I say if you have high winds better that people on board be experienced as is more comfortable and secure if crew willing to participate. But rethink, we have zero and low wind that whole day it just has not made any sense to take part in sailing in no wind conditions. I believe just maybe language 'gap' happen at that moment or some other as I feel we all enjoy and these small details look no important at you at all and then nobody talk more deeply about that.. but anyway I am answering that fully now. To fully answer for review, last is that you expect "beach towels for serious swimming." I am in yacht charter business last 10 years and know owners from yacht charter companies in Croatia and outside Croatia know few... Beach towels you never get on rented boats ever. You can't expect that on the boat you rent. It's your personal stuff that you usually keep with you when going on any summer type of vacation. I don't wish to talk about house rentals as I don't have experience there, but as I know, you don't get beach towels if you rent an apartment on the shore at all. At the end of all, I am happy in the end as you enjoyed a night falling asleep on gently rocking the boat in a comfy private cabin as I believe that we take best on that one-day! You just must rent sailboat boat more than one-day if you wish to get more time to sail and get more experience from the sea because anyone just must be more time on the boat and at the maritime area. You can’t just ‘order experience,' you must get it from nature during available vacation time. I know that start love boats and think about buying a your own boat too. Just little more experience with boats you will be good for sure :-)). A lot around boats have a romantic side without any doubt, but still, exist real-life facts that people who love all that must accept to be able to sail around. Send a salute to your husband from me too Regards, Goran
