1) I don't usually smoke in the house so would appreciate that if you have to, please do so outside.
2) My cleaning lady is a superstar and keeps my home clean, so please be a star as well and use my loft in a responsible manner as well.
3) If you accidentally break anything, please let me know...
4) Please turn off the air-conditioning and other appliances/lights when you go out.
My parents lived in this apartment. Based on what they said, it is humid and there were lots of mosquitos. The picture of the room that sent from my parents are not as beautiful as it showed on Airbnb page. It's old and dim.
Also the communication with the host was not instant and not thoughtful as well.
I don't recommend this apartment for others provided this relative high price.
Pam is really nice and the house is super comfortable. Really thanks for giving me and my friend a fantastic place to live in Shanghai. We have smooth communication let us have no trouble in this tourism.
The location is great: 10 mins walk to Xintiandi and 5 mins walk to Tianzifang. 24hr convenient store is just several steps out.
However, as it is a loft of an old house on the ground floor, it was quite a scary experience for us city-dwellers: flies in the bathroom, spiders in many corners and centipede coming out of nowhere..... But Pam responded quickly to my request that the cleaning lady came right on the second day to clean up again. My heartfelt feedback is that Pam, you (or ask someone you trust) should really go visit the house in person and have your house thoroughly cleaned and renovated (as walls are falling apart, rugs are ragged etc..)
Overall, I did not enjoy my stay here and would not recommend it. The positives are that it is in a good location and has interesting local flavor. However, communication with the owner was poor --- I had to contact her three times over a few weeks before she finally sent me the info on how to get to/into her apartment the day before my arrival; also, the place is not well kept: there was no toilet paper (and owner ignored my email asking where there might be some), and no towels out. In the process of looking for these two essentials, I found all kinds of junk stuffed in the cabinets, which gave me a bad feeling about the place (how clean is it?). I got the feeling that the owner doesn't really care about my experience, which is completely different from every one of my many stays at AirBnB homes.
Very cool unique loft and really great area mins to Xintiandi! Just needs a bit of fine tuning to make it a great stay. I hope you don't get offended!
No toilet roll! bathroom leaking, wet laundry in the washing machine/ (def need a separate dryer), our sheets were damp and we could feel springs in mattress/bed. The 2nd flr is super cosy for sleeping!
Need a manual for TV instructions/esp remote and house! No proper kitchen equipment/utensils. Blinds is spoilt so neighbours can see in at night. Other than (email hidden)m's very responsive!
Thanks again, Pam.
It is located in central area, very easy to access to Xinatinzi. To get subway ,takes about 15mins by walk. Pam gave me clear direction when I took a cab to find her place. But there was no toilet paper in the bathroom and washing machine was filled in full of laundry. Floor was not clean there was no direction to use TV or DVD. Besides those things, it was good place to stay for ahort term.

About the Host, Pam
I love eating, baking, art, traveling, sharing stories and ideas.
I run my own Singaporean art & design brand with my partner and are currently in Shanghai expanding our base and looking for new opportunities.
We love to explore nooks and crannies and check out what's new in town, but we're also quite nesty and love a little cosy tuck-in at home over a glass of whisky or some good coffee and tea.
