  • We had a great experience at Elizabeth's "Rustic studio" in the heart of town. The location was great, just two blocks from the water, which also made the price unbeatable for the area! The room was just like a small, clean, nicely decorated studio apartment with everything you need to cook for yourself if on a food budget - for us it was more of a staging/sleeping area as we explored all of the great beaches, islands, and food La Paz has to offer. The ice cold air conditioning was crucial for us at this hot time of year in La Paz and Elizabeth also provides wireless internet, drinking water, coffee maker, toaster, mini-fridge, etc. The casita is at the back of a largish, mostly empty lot and felt very safe and private. We took advantage of the hammock, shaded car park area, the clothes line for drying beach gear and were there just in time for ripe mangos of the tree!! Yum!! We also found our new favorite breakfast spot in La Paz just two blocks from here - Maria California - delicious with lovely, tasteful and creative Mexican and Baja themes decor. Elizabeth was easy to communicate with over text from the US and by (website hidden) or Wifi once we arrived in Mexico. She provides a key to both the casita and to the gate out front that you can walk through or drive through if you have a rental car (so your car is super safe too overnight or while out wandering - though La Paz is a super safe city anyways...). Gem of a find for the budget minded traveler!! Thanks Elizabeth!!

  • Elizabeth and her daughter were gracious enough to meet us late in the evening. They were both very friendly and helpful in getting us settled. Accommodations were basic, but spacious and very conveniently located to the malecon area. A pleasant stay!

  • We stayed at Elizabeth's studio for one week, it is very comfortable and well located. It is literally one block away from the 'malecon' and most bar/restaurants and main services of La Paz. The studio also has its own parking space (both in a private yard) so you don't have to worry about where to leave your car.
If we go back to La Paz we would definitely stay there again!

  • We really enjoyed our stay in this studio. It was exactly as described. Simple and clean. Very convenient to Malecon and local shopping. Lots of secure storage for trailer, bikes, motorcycles and kayak. Very little street noise, even during Carnival. Elizabeth is a good hostess.

  • We stayed at the Rustic Studio for all of January 2014 and were very happy with our experience! It is a private detached building on a spacious lot with parking and a gate to lock for your security. It is a nice and clean bachelor type suite that is actually quite spacious when you step inside. The WiFi is very quick and always working, the water is hot, and the Studio stays quite cool when the day starts to heat up. It is very close to the Malecon but is uniquely situated and you really have a lot of privacy! Staying here made it very easy to feel at home in La Paz and Elizabeth is a wonderful host!

Thank you very much Elizabeth! We will see you again soon!

  • Elizabeth was a very gracious hostess. She was very receptive to suggestions and eager to please. She spent a day driving myself and my friend to areas that were hard to reach. Mario, Elizabeths brother stayed in the next casita and was also very helpful, including driving me to the airport for a very early flight. The casita was exactly as portrayed and served my needs very well. I appreciated the privacy and the location is excellent. I have made some suggestions for additional kitchen supplies and Elizabeth is planning to follow up. I stayed for one month and really loved the experience.
