Surrounded by views on one side and a garden oasis on the other, this is truly a unique property close to the hustle and bustle of Capitol Hill. Enjoy a private bed & bath on the lower floor of our hillside single family home with shared kitchen.
Enjoy a private bedroom and bathroom in our home, nestled between the Howe and Blaine stairs on the quiet north end of Capitol Hill. While we're both well-traveled, we take great pride in our beloved native state and are happy to help you find the best spots and experiences in the city and surrounding mountains and Puget Sound. We’re in a great location for public transit (served by Metro 49, 25 & 70-series) from Sea-Tac airport and Washington State Ferries, and offer 1 free reserved parking spot and plenty of free on-street parking. There is easy access to and from I-5 and a Car2Go is almost always within walking distance.
Your private room and bathroom are on the ground level of our early 20th century house, which is perched on the northwest slope of Capitol Hill, with sweeping views to the west. The bedroom includes a queen bed, plus an additional queen hide-a-bed couch and has private entry through the basement or shared kitchen. Linens are provided, and we have most necessities on hand in case you forget anything. Our sweet, older dog will gladly greet you, but is also happy to keep to herself when needed. The back door off our sunny shared kitchen and breakfast nook opens up to a private garden, sitting area, and BBQ patio, but you'll likely want to spend your time on the front deck overlooking Lake Union, the downtown skyline, Puget Sound, and the Olympic Mountains. In addition, we're right next to one of the best kept secrets of Seattle’s parks system, Streissguth Gardens, which is a woodland garden with walking paths, specimen plants and striking views.
When you’re ready to venture out from the quiet garden retreat, we’re an easy walk to the cultural heart of Capitol Hill, with some of the best dining, nightlife, and of course, coffee, in the city. Just up the hill is historic Volunteer Park, designed by the Olmstead Brothers, which includes a botanical conservatory, Seattle Asian Art Museum, 1906 brick water tower with 360 degree views, and Lake View Cemetery, where Chief Sealth, many of Seattle’s founders, and Bruce Lee are all buried. The Eastlake neighborhood, home to Seattle’s famous house boat community, is a short walk down the Howe or Blaine stairs, and downtown, South Lake Union, Wallingford, Fremont, University District, Montlake, Madison Park, and Central District are all within minutes by car or public transport.
While respecting your privacy, we’re happy to share tips about our beautiful city over a cup of true Seattle coffee and are happy to be your home away from home. Come enjoy a retreat in the city!
This is a smoke-free household. We are child friendly. We are pet-friendly on a case-by-case basis- let us know about your pet when requesting the room.
Perfect accommodation for my boyfriend and I... clean, cozy and in a great location. Thanks a lot Kyle and Nicole :)
Kyle's place was amazing. The view from his deck is priceless and location is superb. He was very accommodating, kind, and gave plenty of recommendations for food and coffee. Can't go wrong. His puppy is very playful as well.
Kyle has a beautiful and comfortable home. Both he and his wife were exceedingly friendly. Our stay could not have been better. Highly recommended.
Kyle and his family were wonderful hosts, the room was a bit small for two separate beds but very comfortable, with parking, an amazing view of the bay to wake up to and minutes from downtown. I'd definitely come back!
Thanks Nadav! I realize now we had not arranged the room to make it easy for you to pull our the hide-a-bed (we change the bed configuration) and apologize for the oversight. I try to make clear to guests the hide-a-bed is an optional addition for adding extra folks. We have considered a smaller, European style couch that becomes a bed but have favored the queen-sized option the current Simmons hide-a-bed affords.
Beautiful, private room in a great location. It really felt we were in our own private cabin. Kyle was a phenomenal host - always making sure that we were comfortable and didn't need anything. I'll absolutely come back again next time I'm in Seattle.
Extremely charming space in a very convenient and accessible part of the city. The views from the house were absolutely stunning, and it's a very short distance from the center of the city and everything that you could possible want.
The best part of the stay was definitely Kyle, who was an extremely helpful and gracious host. He went out of his way to make our stay comfortable, and his graciousness and generosity took our trip from good to spectacular.
Overall I like the lovely atmosphere, friendly hosts and a cute dog. We only stayed two nights in Kyle's house, but we can totally feel the warmth of the family. Zari (Kyle's dog) is so well-mannered to guests, so even people who are not a big fan of dogs should be fine to stay in their place.
Only a few flaws about noise.
1. There is a highway near the house, so it would be a potential interruption for people who really need a quiet environment to sleep.
2. The house is made by wood, so we could hear the squeaky sound sometimes when people walks on the upstairs.
Other than that, we had a wonderful time there.
We could not have asked for a better first-time Airbnb experience! Though Kyle was out of town when we arrived, his directions were clear, and he was so helpful over text. His beautiful place was spotless, the view from the porch was amazing, and it was everything my boyfriend and I could wanted on our first trip to Seattle. My only regret is that I didn't book for longer! An absolute gem!
Kyle & Nicole were great! Very accomodating, good communication, and great to talk to. They gave me great advice on my first trip to the Puget Sound region. The space was very nice as well, with fantastic views of Lake Union on a quiet street.
My girlfriend and I stayed at Kyle's for a last minute 4 day trip up to Seattle. Kyle happened to be on a trip of his own at the time we were coming up so we didn't get to meet, but he left us notes with good recommendations! Morning coffee overlooking Lake Union from the balcony was wonderful. For us it was nestled nicely north from things to do in Capitol Hill, but also a short (2mi) walk to all the vegan food in the University District. The place it self was nice and warm at night, it felt like a cozy little cabin. This place is really a wonderful little haven.
