This room has a double bed and a twin bed. The beds are very comfortable and our neighborhood is gorgeous and quiet and there is a park a block away. There is only one bathroom but we haven't had a problem. We are very friendly and easy going.
THIS IS THE LISTING FOR THE ROOM WITH 1 Double Bed and One Twin Bed! WE ALSO HAVE A LISTING FOR A ROOM WITH 1 Queen Bed!! This home has been in my husband's family since it was built in the 1950's. It is a smaller home on a very quiet street very close to a park with kids play area, tennis courts, swimming pool and a library. We are only about a 15 minute drive to downtown and are close to the zoo. My husband Richard and I live in the house. We don't have pets, but we are pet friendly. Our house has 3 bedrooms on the main floor and a basement. We are renting out 2 rooms on the main floor. One with a queen bed, it is the bigger room and one room has a double and twin bed. We have one bathroom but that won't be a problem for us if it isn't for you. We have a kitchen and dining area and a front room with fireplace and tv. The bigger bedroom has a tv in it. Our yard has lots of trees and shrubbery and is very green. Our neighborhood is very friendly and everyone is always out walking their dogs, etc. We are in a hilly area and there are some restaurants and grocery stores that are about a 20 minute walk. There is a bus stop that is about a 15 minute walk from here. This is a very desirable neighborhood for people with families. It is extremely safe and beautiful. Our neighborhood is called Raleigh Park and we are in the West Hills. If you are a cyclist there are routes to downtown, etc. but they are hilly. We do not have any pets but welcome them. We can also offer you coffee, cereal and toast if you want or you can make your own food. We are very easy going and friendly and love to meet travellers. We love children and miss having kids around since our kids have grown. We love movies and have lots on hand if you want to see something. Also, my husband knows everything there is to know about Oregon and would love to advise you on what you might want to see while you are visiting. He can even offer tours. There are lots of options. We have excellent references and would be willing to offer childcare and pet care if needed. We look forward to hearing from you.

Interaction with Guests
We like to meet our guests and say hi but after that we leave breakfast out in the morning and let them help themselves. We are available to talk about your trip or any information you may need but we try not to be too intrusive.
Our neighborhood is incredible. We are only 15 minutes from downtown Portland but it is like we are in the country. The streets are treelined and there is a park a block away with playground and tennis courts and a library. There are always people walking there dogs. Our street is very quiet because we are off the main road.
It is best to have a car if you are staying at our place. There is public transportation, buses, that are about a 15-20 minute walk from our home.
Other Things to Note
We are dog friendly and very easy going. We are in a very desirable family neighborhood and we know lots about the sights you need to see if you are visiting Portland.
We would expect people to be respectful of our home and belongings and to be reasonably neat and clean and quiet.
Patti and her husband were very friendly and welcoming. They had a very nice clean house and the beds were very comfortable. They say no pets but they do have a stray cat that comes inside sometimes. The house was extremely clean so there was no pet dander or hair anywhere.
Patti met me at the house and showed me my room. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable. I was welcome to use the kitchen too. The first night there were 3 guests in the other room, but I did not hear them.
All in all, a good experience.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The home has a warm welcoming feel, and the neighborhood is very nice with a beautiful park a block away. We liked the location because we were in a beautiful quiet neighborhood but just a short drive to downtown Portland where we visited Powell's Books and had dinner. Patti was very gracious and made us feel welcome. This place was just what we needed.
Patti's place was lovely in a very nice and safe neighborhood. She is not lying about the beds- they are comfy! Patti was very friendly, nice, and helpful.
Patti and Richard are very friendly. They leave us a lot of privacy, which we appreciate very much. Besides, Richard knows every wonderful place in Portland and cities around Portland. Once, he took us to Mount Hook. It was really thrilling to experience snow in summer without feeling cold. I highly recommend.
Patti and Richard are gracious hosts. Their house is in a quiet neighborhood of lovely homes in Portland's west hills with a park just a block away for dog walking.
Nice place with very friendly hosts. They have tons of information to relay about Portland. We had a great stay even though it was only for a night. Once again thanks!

My name is Patti and my husband Richard and I love to travel. He grew up in Oregon and knows everything about it. The best places to go, what to do when you are there, etc. Oregon is an amazing place and we love exploring Portland, the coast, the mountains, the waterfalls and the whole state. We love meeting people and talking about places to travel, the best movies of all time, hiking and biking and sharing laughs and great conversation. We are easy going and very accomodating. If you needed a ride or wanted a guided tour we would love to help. We are pet friendly but don't have any of our own pets although a neighborhood cat visits once in a while. We look forward to meeting new people from around the world. We live alone and are renting out 2 rooms in our home which has been in my husband's family for over 60 years. We look forward to meeting you.
