Laughing Under the Oaks - a luxuriously spacious open-plan bedroom/lounge with fireplace for two and a wonderful patio under ancient oak trees.

The space
Do you wish to escape the frenzy of the city? To wake up in the morning to the sound of birds and a river laughing nearby .. green-gold sunlight filtering through the leaves of the giant oaks.

Laughing Under the Oaks is a beautiful open-plan studio/apartment with a fireplace and large patio. Bathroom with shower. Fully equipped self-catering kitchen with professional stove/oven.
Additional comfortable mattresses on the floor or a single bed can be added.

*Please Note: the main farmstead is close to Laughing Under the Oaks and yet this studio/apartment is wonderfully peaceful and private. There is a surrounding latte-fence to keep the chickens, geese and other farm creatures out. This includes our 2 lovely and enthusiastic dogs. Please be in contact with me should you wish to bring yours along. There are walks and beautiful views in the fynbos or through our protea fields.

Enjoy our comfortable and spacious accommodation, wide-open nature, star-filled nights, interactions with our friendly herds of goats and horses, hiking, mountain biking and swimming in our private spring-fed farm dams.

Laughing Waters is a wonderful base for individuals and families wishing to enjoy the gentle peace of a vibrant farm set within the beautiful Cape Overberg. The farm is 123ha and is situated in a peaceful, safe and beautiful area of the Western Cape.

Laughing Waters Farm is in the middle of no-where (evidenced by LOTS of peace & star-lit nights) AND in the middle of everywhere! The area's very special attractions include some of the world's best whale watching from absolutely beautiful beaches, wonderful species-rich fynbos flora and birdlife, an indigenous forest & its tree essences, Panthera Africa, shark-diving... exceptional local wines, food and happenings.

This is a working farm with a lot of wide open nature -- Guests are absolutely welcome to explore and even to to join the daily happenings and to interact with the farm's furred and feathered friends.

Enjoy our farm-fresh produce, seasonally available: eggs, goat’s milk & cheese from our free roaming farm animals, fresh organic herbs & vegetables, protea flowers and fynbos honey.

Together with the farm’s warm-spirited team, Kirsten & Gerd and their two young daughters look forward to welcoming you to Laughing Waters and to making your stay really special. We offer a variety of guided experiences on our farm and of the area’s special attractions.

I live with my partner Gerd & our 2 young daughters on a beautiful fynbos farm in the Overberg of the Western Cape, South Africa. I am an Ecologist with a passion for nature and together with my family and our wonderful team, we are creating a vibrant farm which we love sharing with our guests. We believe in good food and all that is grown on the farm is happy & organic. We grow indigenous protea flowers and organic vegetables. We have characterful and comfortable guest accommodation and welcome individuals, couples, families and small groups to stay and enjoy the nature, peace and star-lit evenings of Laughing Waters. The Laughing Waters venue can be hired for workshops or special occasions; catering is available. The venue can accommodate 16 persons and guests are welcome to incorporate the space and beauty of this fynbos farm into their occasion. Together with our gentle herd of horses, I offer horse-facilitated insight coaching to effectively guide groups, couples and individuals to experience and integrate their wished-for objectives. These sessions as well as horse riding, should be arranged in advance.
