The Space

Hi airbnbers!

Feel welcome to my cosy flat. It is located less than 10 minutes walk away from the bus/train stations and from Girona city centre.

The room available has a double bed with a very comfortable mattress.
The window has blinds to ensure you can sleep till late if you wish to, and it faces a courtyard, so it is really quiet and bright.
The bathroom will be shared with me and another guests if the other room is booked.

I have hosted dozens of friends and all of them have left with a smile. You will feel at home for sure here, either if is just a stopover between flights or if you wish to explore the area.

I am a literature student and a vegetarian foodie, good humoured, conversation lover and with a passion for travel.
I come from Barcelona and I have been living in Girona for about five years intermittently.

I have been a chef for many years, and you can make an advance request for a gourmet/traditional/vegetarian delicious meal for an additional fee. Otherwise there are a few bars in the area and I can also help you if you want food to be delivered home.

Everybody friendly ;)

Guest Access

There is free wi-fi in the apartment available for guest. You are welcome to use the living room and the balcony, outside smoking is allowed. You can make tea any time and use the microwave, but guests are not allowed to cook.

Interaction with Guests

I am always happy to share tips about the city and help you planning day trips on the area. Since I work from home I generally will be around and available for a chat, although from time to time I also need to get some work done :)

The Neighborhood

The flat is located in Sant Narcís neighbourhood, a 20 minute walk to the old town. Urban buses stop nearly at the doorstep, although the Girona is easily managed on foot.

Getting around

There are buses to the airport every hour, but with a prior arrangement I could also pick you up or drive you there for a fee.
There are frequent trains to/from Barcelona and Figueres, and regional buses to the coastal area and some other regions.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Great room, walk distance from the old city. Sara helped us with a walking route, suggested great places to have dinner (and ice scream) and even arranged a little breakfast. In conlusion: Great room and an even better host!

  • Sara is a delightful host. What we appreciated most about Sara was her ready laugh, her warm smile and her generosity of spirit.
We felt very welcome and comfortable and at home in her cosy apartment. All the amenities were there as described. We had great night sleeps in a very comfortable bed, the shower was hot, we could walk easily to the centre of Girona or the train/bus station and we enjoyed many a fine conversation over a cup of tea with Sara.
Sara was extremely helpful with input interpreting bus and train schedules to reach some isolated coastal towns for day trips and for ideas in general re: getting around. She is very knowledgeable about Girona and when asked, was able to advise us on where to find good food at good prices and places to see in Girona, especially with regards to the historical part of the city.
All in all it was a great experience and we highly recommend Sara as a host and her cosy apartment as a great place to stay in Girona.

  • I have to say our stay at Sara's place was the best airbnb experience we've had in Spain! It was just an overnight stay but we ended up wishing we had longer. Sara has a lovely, neat and elegantly furnished place. Looks just like the pictures. The bathroom is shared but spotless.
Since Sara was out for the evening we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

Sara was very engaging right since the time of our inquiry. She gave us very detailed directions to her place from the station (which by the way is much easier to follow and gets you quicker than (website hidden)'s). We missed our train to Girona and got there about a couple of hours later than what we had originally discussed with her but she was very accommodating. As soon as we arrived, she welcomed us with coffee and pastries - such a treat especially after our train fiasco! She helped us with a map and places to see, eat, interesting walks. Since she is a very well travelled person herself, there is a lot one can discuss with her and we ended up chatting about our travels, experiences, cultures, psychology...late into the night!

Sara, muchas gracias! We had such a lovely stay and hope to keep in touch with you :)

  • Sara was a thoughtful and enthusiastic host, and we're so glad we stayed with her! She has so many great recommendations for things to do and places to eat in Girona, and she was able to help us figure out how to get around Barcelona as well. The room was comfortable and warm. My boyfriend and I would definitely stay with Sara again, and recommend her to other guests. :)

  • Sara was great, really friendly and a good host. Her flat is cosy and the room we stayed in was comfortable. She picked us up from the airport for 12 euros which is very reasonable and there is also breakfast available in the morning. I would definitely recommend staying with her.

  • Sara was an excellent host, both knowledgeable and friendly. I had some excellent vegetarian food cooked by her, it was as good as any restaurant in Spain, if not better. Her apartment is 10 mins from the train and bus stations and the same distance to the old town centre, it's a comfortable palace and very good value for money. I will definitely stay with her again.

  • I had a great stay at Sara's apartment. The flat is very clean and comfortable and Sara was very friendly and easy to talk to, with lots of good advice about things to see in the town. She also very kindly put out the breakfast for me the night before when I had to get up early. Highly recommended.

I am a seeker.   I have lived 35 years, around 20 in Barcelona, the rest in distant places: high peaks, large and medium cities, fishing villages, rainy islands. I have forgotten countless books in many bedrooms. I have traveled and I have written about it in school notebooks, moleskine diaries, napkins, emails, on the back of train tickets, postcards. Scent colector. I look at every new place with new eyes. I have mixed, amalgamated, melted, and absorbed all those experiences, and then cooked them for my guests or in the kitchens of my hosts.   I have learned almost everything I know - it's not much - by talking to people from five continents: shepherds who had never seen the sea, Coronel Tapioca explorers, love and money immigrants, nomads, grannies and grandpas, cosmopolitan folks, people very proud of their unpronounceable name, routine fugitives, nephews / nieces from all over the world ...   When I travel I pack a travel guide, a few clothes, presents for new friends, a dictionary, lots of useless whatifs, a brand new diary. When I come back I bring even less clothes, books, recipes, spices, gifts for old friends, museum catalogues, postcards, a pile of recently acquired nostalgia, a crumpled diary. I speak Spanish and Catalan, because I heard them during childhood, English by pure desire of communication with the world, with a variety of accents, a bit of French because of the Rs, circumstantial Italian. ----------------------------------- Buscadora. He recolectado olores.
