Brand new construction ... American standards. Guanacaste is in the Pacific NW. Our home is at Lake Arenal. The temperature here is more consistent at 80 degrees year round with cool evenings. Between the town of Tilaran and Arenal. It is romantic and the view is absolutely mystical!

Response from Barbara:
Airbnb turned on instant booking in error. Those dates were not even available in the calendar. I never confirmed your booking. I just called them and they apologized for the error. I hope you find something for your holiday. Pura Vida, Barbara

Great vaca spot! Breathtaking views, plenty to see and do and great neighbors... we traveled all over CR and this home was tied for first place. Has all the things North Americans are used to being as the owners are Californian : ). Clean and comfortable, nice nice place. Barbara made sure we had internet too, just ask. Loved cafe Macedonia and all the area restaurants. If looking for a good church, the English speaking Christian church in Nuevo Arenal was perfect, good service and good people. We had a special after service invite to a local home for coffee and cake and got to spend the day with some really great folks as well as get a tour of a local farm afterwards... really neat day. It is such a beautiful and peaceful property... I highly recommend staying here for a great home base from which to explore the many area sites such as Volcano Arenal, Tobacon Hot Springs, Monteverde park (we did the Selvatura adventure park... ziplines were awesome but plenty of other things for non zippers too), etc. There was a neat little off road to get to a neat spot on the lake to relax or swim... ask the owner at cafe Macedonia for directions. Plenty to do for a week or even longer visit here... we even did a day trip to Playa Hermosa on the Pacific (about a two hour drive on the nicest roads we saw) This beach was truly amazing... I loved it! Grab a meal at Bosque del mar hotel and then chill at the beach right next to it... stunning set up. Note: with the right attitude, some of the adventure is traversing the roads here ; ). The Monteverde drive was particularly adventurous... you will know what I mean if you go, I would recommend a 4x4 such as a Rav4 if renting a vehicle. We used Europecar and they were reasonable but be aware the insurance is mandatory and can add up quick... plan to spend at least a couple hundred per week on insurance... we were in CR for 3 weeks and it was over 600 bucks just for insurance, around a 1000 total. We did have a flat tire too and had to buy a new tire for 75 bucks to replace it because we drove on it a little bit and damaged it beyond repair. Not sure how much tire insurance is but if under 75 dollars, I would get it... the roads are very rough in spots. Hope this info helps and you can enjoy as great a vacation as we did!

Barbara and the local staff did a great job to make sure we didn't need much else. It's a great spot. The house and property are beautiful. We enjoyed the comfortable beds, furniture and the lighting in and around the house for great sunset moods and evening. The view of the lake, windmills, and the whole mountain area is stunning. The kitchen was comfortable and had all the appliances, utensils, and recipients we could've wanted. There were plenty of condiments. Our three year old son played a lot in the spacious living room and terrace. He made friends with a neighborhood dog. The covered parking and general garden landscaping were an added bonus.
