This lovely space met all of our criteria. It was clean, private, and comfortable. We appreciated such amenities as the local chocolates, coffee & tea, and the garafone filled with water. And there was great food in walking distance even though the location is away from the town hubbub. We loved the view of the barn across the yard in the mornings.
Our friendly and knowledgeable host Lisa provided perfect directions to the apartment and gave us excellent restaurant suggestions.
This is a place we will keep on our Ashland list.
This was the perfect place for us to stay. My husband, my mom, and I stayed here for four nights. My mom took the bedroom, and James and I slept in the main room (which is basically like a nice large studio apartment). Lisa, our gracious and helpful host, had set out some chocolates and fresh berries for us. She provided coffee, tea, and half-and-half. The space was spacious, clean, pleasingly decorated, and offered plenty of privacy. Even though the house is only seconds from a regular residential neighborhood, it felt like we were out in the country. We had a view of a pasture and barn from our sliding glass door and cozy patio space. There were pretty flowers in the garden. A nearby walking path leads to downtown Ashland (about 2.8 miles away). We didn’t walk all the way downtown on the path, but it gave us a nice place to get a stroll in before we left on a long drive to our next destination.
The partial kitchen (microwave, toaster, coffee maker, fridge, plates, utensils, and even a table to sit at) was perfect for our needs. The bathroom was quite nice, with two completely separate sinks and a large tub/shower. (There is no kitchen sink, so the extra bathroom sink definitely came in handy.) The bedroom (which might be included only if you need and reserve the extra room – there are two price levels offered) was so light and cheery, and had a long closet with hangers.
We spent most of our time out and about, and in some ways, we wished we had a bit more time to just hang out at Lisa’s. We would definitely stay here again if possible!
Lisa was an excellent host, very friendly and helpful. Her place was immaculately clean and very comfortable. It also stayed cool even when the temperature outside soared to 105F°! We really enjoyed out stay in Ashland!
Really loved our stay here. Beautiful property, really nice space with an amazing bathtub and air conditioning. Would definitely stay here again.
We were in the area visiting the theater festival and were warmly welcomed to this beautiful retreat space that was private, had gorgeous vistas, and was thoughtfully provisioned, well-appointed, and spacious. We loved the feeling of country living very convenient to town. Reminds me of how the Ashland area can feel like Italy. Would definitely stay again. We enjoyed a walk along the entrance road with quail, orange-winged flickers, and friendly horses which gave quick access to the trail beside the rails that was a charming, perfect morning accompaniment to our stay. Our questions were answered promptly and the place had many thoughtful touches. Highly recommended.
Lisa was out of town, so she had a friend welcome us to our retreat. He was very warm and shared a few of his favorite spots in town. This space was just right for our needs. We appreciated the peaceful setting. Driving past the horses, goats & sheep really made it feel far away from town. Our space was comfortable despite the warm weather. We were a group of 4 and felt we had enough space. So glad we stayed with you
While I wasn't able to meet Lisa since she was out of town during my stay, her good friend Sagen was there to greet us and give details, and he was extremely friendly and helpful. The listing was exactly as described, impeccably clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. Everything you need for a very comfortable stay is included in the unit (not to mention, as a huge tab of awesome tubs, there is a most excellent tub here!). This was a very enjoyable experience for my son and myself and we would definitely return.
