The'Cure' is a is a residential neighborhood, very quite, with high urban quality, surrounded by private green gardens, gardens of villas and of avenues, just north of the historic center. 'The Cure', so called because in the Middle Ages pilgrims came to be cured.
Just a short walk from here are the Horticultural Garden, Museum Stibbert and Badia Fiesolana. Sights include the seventeenth-century garden of Villa Ventaglio with lake and bridge to immerse yourself in quiet walks.
The district is also located near the green lung of the avenues that were used in the nineteenth century units throughout the city, on the model of Paris and Vienna.
In the nineteenth century, the architect Giuseppe Poggi, when Florence was the capital (1860), destroyed the fifth set of walls and has kept the entrance gates to the city as a bulwark and the memory of the great monuments. So prolonged the fabric of the downtown with The Cure through the creation of the Viale dei Mille and Viale Alessandro Volta from Piazza della Libertà to Fiesole. In the southern side, however, the paths merge with the Florentine hills and typical area of Arcetri. Piazzale Michelangelo (10 minutes by bus from here) is the culmination and crowning of union between the two sides, in memory of Michelangelo Buonarroti who also designed the bastion and the fortress of San Miniato al Monte, the highest point and more near the city from where you can admire a breathtaking view.
S. Gallo Door in Piazza della Libertàis, in fact, the door that leads from the center to the Cure.

It's nearby the centre, therefore, near the most important square, well-served by pizzerias, restaurants, shops, cafès, self-made ice-creem, bakeries, and supermarkets, place of interest and panoramic views. It's surrounded by many greenparks, where in particolar, from the Giardino dell'Orticoltura and Museo Stibbert you will seem to touch the Cathedral of Filippo Brunelleschi, Giotto's bell tower, Ponte Vecchio and all the area on the banks of Arno settled since the ancient roman times.
I suggest suggestive places to visit and for eating florentine steak.
The first insiedament, in Florence, coincides with the hill of Fiesole, an etruscan acropolis.
From Viale Volta, near home you can go to Fiesole, an UNESCO archeological, beatifull gardens and villas, elegant and cheap restaurants and pizzerias, local products.
From S. Giuseppe street you can admire a beatifull view of whole Florence, it's suggestive and romantic, expecially by night. In the night of New Year and in San Giovanni's night you will look at all illuminated Florence by fireworks.
An other important point of view is Piazzale Michelangelo and here you will admire the wonderfull scenary with the river Arno and the most important monuments with a closer look. In up there is the quiet and ancient church of San Miniato al Monte, down are the roses and japanese gardens and the walk to Palazzo Pitti and Giardino di Boboli.
In the hystorical center you can visit Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Campanile di Giotto, Battistero of S. Giovanni, Accademia di S. Marco which preserves the original 'David' of Michelangelo Buonarroti, Piazza della Signoria with Palazzo della Signoria with Palazzo Vecchio with Salone dei Cinquecento and tower di Arnolfo di Cambio, the Loggia of Lanzi, Gallery of Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Leonardo Museum, Orsanmichele Church, Basilica di S. Trinita, Santa Maria del Carmine Church, S. Spirito Church, Santa Maria Novella Church, Spedale degli Innocenti, Museum of Bargello, Santa Croce Church, Rotonda of Angeli, Ancient florentine towers, Palazzo Medici-Riccardi, Palazzo Strozzi and other Renaissance Palaces, Dante's House, Michelangelo Buonarroti's house, Palazzo Pitti and its museums and Giardino di Boboli, Fortezza da Basso for fashjon fair, Parterre in Piazza della Libertà for craft fair, the New theatre in the gardens of Cascine and near 'la Leopolda', by tram.
It's well connecting by pubbblic buses, trains and taxis.
Since the historic center was closed to the traffic, from here you can go to Piazza S. Marco by bus, for Gallery Accademy and Palazzo Medici-Riccardi.
From here on foot you get Piazza S. Lorenzo with the homonymos church, the market and Cappelle Medicee, after S. Maria del Fiore in
Dome Square and Brunelleschi Copple and you are getting, cross via Roma and you get Palazzo Vecchio and loggia de' Lanzi in Piazza Signoria that combines the Uffizi Gallery with Ponte Vecchio coming to Palazzo Pitti and Boboli Garden.
There are a lot of bus stop (phone number hidden))in Piazza Cure and on avenues ( 50 meters from here) for Piazza S. Marco (1,5 km.), the main station (3 km), Campo di Marte Station (500m).
Close from here is also bus n.13 for going to Piazzale Michelangelo in 12 minutes and bus C1 that circules in all the centre, 6 minutes for Cappelle Medicee.
From Piazzale Michelangelo you get Giardino di Boboli and Oltrarno ( the most ancient neighborhood) and Piazza S. Croce and Piazza S. Spirito on foot and also by bus .
With bus (7) you can go to Fiesole.
Here we are near the centre but far from the chaos and it's possible to come here by car. You can park anywhere on avenues, in via Passavanti near the stop bus in the yellow lines is free, in the blu lines on payment, free in the night and saturday and sunday. (Look at photos).
There are also garages on payment in Viale dei Mille e Piazza della Libertà.
If you come by plane, from the airport of Florence you can take the only bus navette that goes to Santa Maria Novella station, on board E. 6 per person.
From the station bu n.1 takes 6 minutes to get the loft.
One ataf ticket costs 1,20 E. and is good for 90 minutes.
If you are more than one person you can take a taxi and it takes an half hour to get in via Passavanti from airport.
In Florence are two main stations: Firenze S. Maria Novella and Campo di Marte.
I suggest to get down in Santa Maria Novella Station because more well served by buses.
If you come from the hills you can stand down in Cure Station.

Very beautiful apartment, great design and furniture. The room sometimes was a little noisy, with noise from the flat and the street as its on the ground floor at the front. You can take the bus into the centre but we walked all the time, just took 20 minutes. We also had a meal in Anna's local area- in a little restaurant by the canal.
Thank you very much. In Florence the main street are very noisy, but more in the Viali, near the stations and in the center too, I slept in a BB and I was on the first flloor, it was very noisy. Oh yes my flat is on two steps up the ground flloor, all the flat with garden are on the ground flloor. My apologize for the other guest that all the morning she woke up at 6 am making noise and when he went out slamming the doors. You are welcome when you want and I promise no noisy. An embrace Anna
Nice place, dinner/kitchen is fully equipped with most things. Over 30mins walk from SMN station but the bus can get you there
thank you very much for staying with me, you are nice guests. I'm sorry for not have a lot of relationship with you, but I was very busy. Next time walking from Piazza S. Marco is nearest to the center than from the station. I think I explain better to my next guests. You and your friends areI wish you amazing holidays Anna
We spent 2 nights at Anna's. The bedroom and bathroom were modern and spacious. The area itself is a bit more removed from the tourist attractions and museums in Florence, but a very walkable 15-20 minutes away.
Anna was a great host, provided us with maps and directions, and even some breakfast in the morning. All in all, we had a great time!
You are great guests. Thanks so much for your haste, I appreciate it. I 'd
like to talk more with you during your stay but I was very busy with the maintenance. I had enjoyed very much with you. You and your friends are welcome. Thank you for your respect and simplicity. An embrace Anna
Magnifique appartement tout à fait dans le style de Florence.acceuillant, chaleureux et (website hidden) literie est de très bonne qualité. Anna est une hote tres gentil qui a su nous laisser notre liberté a bon escient. Petits déjeuners a améliorer.
Anna was a very accommodating host and has a beautiful flat in a nice part of the city. The only downsides to my visit were that that the room smelled a bit musty and we were bitten by mosquitos at night. I am not sure if this was an issue in the flat or if mosquitos are just a problem in Florence as a whole. There was a bit of a language barrier, but other than those things, my friends and I had a wonderful stay.
Dear Lindsay, thank you so much for your positive review, although not 5 star. Patience my rate will decrease again. Oh yes, mosquitoes are a big problem in Florence, just open the door that enters someone. Although there are mosqito nets in the home, sometimes you find a mosquito, just opening the entrace door.
Regarding smelled, if you stay all day and all the night in the room without ever opening the window, obvious that there is musty smell. In the last two days I never enter into it because it was always busy.
I'm be able very discreet in cases like these. Overall, however, I was fine with you and it was a pleasure for preparing the breakfast for you. My best Anna
Anna was a great host, very kind and welcoming. She prepared cookies to welcome us and gave us breakfast every morning. Her home was lovely and our room and private bathroom perfect and comfortable. We could use her kitchen to prepare meals and it was easy to use and comfortable. It is also easily accessible by a direct bus from the main station which made travelling very easy. My husband and I had a lovely time there, I highly recommend it.
