We offer a very comfortable and homely double/triple (air-conditioned) room in a charming Bed & Breakfast in the southern suburbs of Athens. The room has an independent entrance as well as direct access to our beautiful garden where our guests can relax and enjoy the renowned Greek sun throughout their stay. In addition to the independent entrance, the room is also connected to the rest of the house and such facilities as the kitchen, dining room and living room with TV, DVD player and fireplace (for the chillier days) which our guests are welcome to use. The room has a private en-suite with shower and a private study/sitting room which can accommodate 1 more bed upon request. A fridge is also provided in the study/sitting room.
Our garden is perfect for quality time in the sun or under the shade of our citrus trees, perhaps relaxing in the hammock with one of our complimentary iced teas or coffees. There are also BBQ facilities available to use if you wish. Along with the many trees and flowers in the garden we have also grown one of the first urban farms in Athens!
Furthermore we are close to beautiful Athens coast (2-3 km) which is ideal for walks and bicycle-rides. A number of cafes, restaurants and bars can be found within a short 10 minute walk (0.5 km). We are also in close proximity (2-3 km) to:
* numerous beautiful beaches
* the Athens Golf Club
* the Go-Kart Centre
* the Agios Kosmas Olympic Complex
* Glyfada; the stylish shopping & entertainment centre of the south suburbs of Athens
A generous and delicious continental breakfast can be provided upon request (4 Euros per-person), and on warm days can be enjoyed out in the garden. Guests can also enjoy our organic home-grown and home-cooked produce for dinner at a cost of 10 Euros per-person which includes our organic, home-made wine. The meals vary depending on the season but we guarantee that they will always be healthy, plentiful and delicious.
Our Bed & Breakfast is ideal for people who want to enjoy both the historic centre of Athens along with the lesser known charms of the surrounding areas. We are happy to provide advice on and assistance with the organisation of fantastic day-trips to numerous historic, cultural and natural attractions in the surrounding areas of Athens (including nearby islands).
We always enjoy meeting new people from all over the world and being introduced to their culture. As an exchange, we hope to provide a fantastic stay in Athens for all of our guests with good-old style Greek hospitality.
Thank you for your interest. We are looking forward to hopefully meeting you sometime soon.

Maika is a keen home-cook who likes to blend traditional Greek cooking with a modern twist. The seasonal produce from our veggie garden encourages her cooking experimentation with outstanding results. Guests in our B&B may get to enjoy complementary homemade treats such as our ice-cold organic lemonade, our bergamot liqueur, our seasonal jams, fruit and vegetable salads. It all depends on what’s been cooked and the vibe of the day!
Besides any complementary treat there is the option to enjoy a generous and delicious breakfast and dinner while staying with us.
Breakfast with us (4 Euros per-person):
Our guests have the ability to have a hearty breakfast under the shade of the trees in our beautiful back garden. Our breakfast includes:
* Tea or Coffee

* A selection of home-made jams/marmalades/honeys etc.
* Cereal/Muesli with milk
* An egg
* A cheese & ham toastie
* Fruit juice
Dinner with us (10 Euros per-person).
In the evening Maika lights up the garden with little candle lanterns making it the perfect spot to enjoy a warm Greek summer evening. Guests can have dinner on a private candle-lit table or join us on a larger table for some greet-style feasting! Our dinner includes:
* A selection of appetisers
* A main meal
* Salad and bread accompanying the main meal

Many of the ingredients are sourced from our veggie patch, or through the produce of family and friends. As a result, the meals tend to be very seasonal. An example summer dinner would include:

* Greek salad and sour-dough bread
* Chilled white wine
* Semolina halva with Greek-yogurt cream
If you decide to try out our breakfast or dinner all we ask is to tell us a day in advance.
We are fairly easy going people, we love having fun and we want all of our guests to have fun when staying with us. We only ask you to be sensible and respect the property as it is our one and only home. If you are not sure about doing something please talk to us and we will try to find a way to satisfy everyone. Many thanks for the understanding.

Stelios and Maika were very welcoming and made their home open to us. The breakfasts were good value at just 4 euros and the family of new- born kittens kept us amused with their antics in the garden. We had hoped to manage to eat an evening meal with Maika, but in the end preferred to stay on in Athens in the evenings. It's no problem to get right into the city centre on the underground (10 minute walk to the nearby station) with a five day pass costing just 10 euros - a real bargain. The house is in a quiet suburb of the city with easy access to local shops and a good bakery. It's well located for access to the airport - we took the X97 bus in to Elliniko and Stelios had anticipated our arrival time and was waiting to pick us up. Stelios speaks good English so there were no communication problems. He and Maika also went out of their way to buy us some advance tickets for a concert at Technopolis, a venue that we would recommend. Our room was clean, basic and simple with a comfortable bed and good air con. The only thing that we really missed was not having was our own kettle, but we did have some access to the kitchen upstairs at times.
Stelios was great at giving directions and picked us up from the train station. The room was comfortable and we had good air conditioning. Stelios and Maika were able to provide a very professional service during our stay. The meals we had in the garden were great and it was very appreciated that our washing was done for us while we were there.
Stelios and Maika were incredible hosts! You have to make sure to eat a few meals with them. They are great company and the food Maika makes with fresh ingredients from their garden is incredible! Also, do yourself a favour and try Stelios' wine.. An amazing drop of wine! Their son Demetrios is also a great help and good company! Great vicinity to the metro station and anything that you need when staying in Athens!!!
Where does one start with such a warm, welcoming couple who made their home ours too for four wonderful weeks!!!
It is an absolute credit to Maika and Stelio, their home is spotless, modern and so comfortable.
Maika's cooking is to die for. She is a brilliant cook and a fantastic host. Stelio is a host who is always too happy to share his knowledge and expertise and nothing is of any bother to him.
From the moment Stelio picked us up from the airport to the day we left their faultless B&B both Maika and Stelio were absolutely charming. We highly recommend the Veggie Garden to anyone planning to visit Athens. It is extremely clean with fresh linen supplied regularly, walking distance to almost everything including the Metro.
My husband and I can't thank Maika and Stelio enough for all they have offered us. Two truly incredible people.
Maika and Stelio THANK YOU SO MUCH.

We were warmly welcome by Stelios and Maika with a delicious vegetarian dinner that was also very diverse, including wine made by Stelios. The room and facilities were flawless. But the ice on the cake was a musical session into the night with the host, who plays the Bouzouki and sings Greek folk songs. Since I am a musician myself, that was quite an unexpectedly pleasant experience!
We live here for 1 week, Stelios & Maika house is beautiful place with nice garden,from safe and calm (email hidden) is near metro station,red line only 15-20 min to Acropoli.Stelios and Maika are great hosts,Stelios help you with everything what you need,show you a great location in Athens and around their house.Maika is great cook,i recommend everyone to give her great dinner!Breakfest is good and very cheap.We have a lovely time in Athens,Efharisto poly-Thank you very much Stelios and Maika for all!!!!When we will go to Athens next time we definitly want to stay wit you again.

We are Maika and Stelios, a Greek couple in their 50s who love travelling and hosting. We have recently fully renovated our Athens home introducing a new veggie-patch. Having 2 spare rooms and many years of hosting experience, it seemed like a natural progression to run our home as a B&B. We have been operating as a B&B since 2011 with guests from all over the world.
Maika is a keen home-cook who blends traditional Greek cooking with a modern twist. The seasonal produce from our garden encourages cooking experimentation with outstanding results. Besides the available breakfast and dinner options, many guests get to enjoy tasty complementary treats throughout their stay. More importantly, they get to enjoy the treats under the shade of the trees in our beautiful garden.
We always enjoy meeting new people and being introduced to their culture. As an exchange, we hope to provide a fantastic stay in Athens for all of our guests with good old-style Greek hospitality.
